Visited twice, only had 2 vegan options - 2 vegan sorbets. Better choices elsewhere in Cortina

Pros: Both vegan flavours clearly marked

Cons: Only 2 vegan sorbets

No Vegan Gelato/Sorbetto?

Updated review:

Well, I tried again, this time determined to buy something, anything—and I found out more about what they have. I had to order an Americano, because they don’t have any kind of non-dairy milk. Kind of ridiculous, as any other café I tried around here (e.g., Pasticceria Panifico Alverà) at least had soy milk.

Again, this is not really an Amorino. It’s called Embassy Bar Café, and they serve some Amorino products. They quoted me maybe 5 or 6 flavors of gelato they offer (once I was seated and drinking my coffee): chocolate, vanilla, pistachio, another 1 or 2 I can’t remember, and lime.

Is the lime flavor vegan, or does it have milk in it? Do they have any vegan flavors? I got different answers every time I asked the 2 guys who were working there. (I looked it up on the website, and the lime-basil flavor is vegan). I’ll tell you one thing: they don’t have much that’s vegan, and aren’t knowledgeable about it; so this is basically a 1-star situation for vegans. Although, I can point out that you could get a regular or decaf espresso or Americano, and they have a vast menu of hot teas to enjoy without milk.

However, once I looked at the printed food menu—a thick tome in 3 languages—I found a reason to bump it up to 2 stars. They do have some sandwiches & other dishes. Vegetarian choices are clearly marked... (although some of these contain fish, arrrgh!) So at least there’s that. I’ll include pictures so you can see what they have. One step in the right direction.

They could easily improve: at the bare minimum, make sure staff knows what’s in the products you sell. Get soy, almond, oat, or other plant milk, and you’re on par with other coffee shops. Then, if they had 2 or more flavors of vegan gelato/sorbet, they would deserve to be on Happy Cow. If they had 1 vegan sandwich and 1 or 2 vegan pastries (like a croissant and a cookie), this would be a rave review and the vegans would flock there.

It doesn’t take much to make vegans extremely happy. Honestly.

Original, 26 October 2019:
This is not a regular Amorino that I’m used to in other parts of the world. This is more of just a coffee shop with pastries. When I walked in looking for gelato, and then anything vegan, they sent me away.

They did have pastries, a cold slice of cheese pizza for re-heating, and I think some other savory bites that may or may not be vegetarian.

Maybe it’s different in the summer?? With more flavors of gelato?

Tl;dr:

Pros: Decent espresso, wide selection of teas, Vegetarian options marked on menu, Most pastries are vegetarian

Cons: Nothing vegan (maybe), They don’t know if what they have is vegan, No plant milk... c’mon, guys
