Is close down and works are being done to open something else I was told... Sad. But I found Intensamente Cafe in the same street (walking area, no no Cars) who have vegan options

Cons: Closed down

cute and friendly - Edit

Cute and friendly little place in the square. The cook made us a vegan set meal based on what she had in the fridge. Soup, bread, juice, tea, curry quinoa with avo and fried banana, and bananas for dessert. Was tasty, but a bit too salty for me. Cheap, and sweet. There's free postcards of Machu Picchu, and she makes her own ceramic magnets too which make for great souvenirs

Friendly, home-style veg eatery with health consciousness - Edit

A meal at Amores Brujos might the closest you'll get to eating a meal at your Peruvian grandmother's house if you don't have a Peruvian grandmother.

I was delighted to discover Amores Brujos, not least because it seems to be the only restaurant in Urubamba that doesn't serve meat (as of September 2016, anyway - hopefully that will change in the future).

But being vegetarian isn't its only appeal: It is warm, friendly, health-conscious, and full of local charm.

During my visit, the set meal was lacto-vegetarian, so i asked if she could make it vegan for me. Instead, she proposed to invent a different vegan meal for me on the spot, so i gladly accepted. It turned out to be a simple but tasty vegetable soup, followed by veggie fried rice with avocado (yummy and satisfying), and topped with fried bananas for dessert. All for about 15 soles, IIRC.

They also have a couple of cabinets stocked with various natural food items for sale, and freshly baked pan de yuca (gluten-free cassava bread).

Please do give this charming little place a try, and support a local, family-owned vegetarian restaurant.
