The Cafe of Charlotte - Edit
Amélie’s has grown into the flagship cafe of Charlotte, NC. And for good reason. The Eleanor are kitsch of the decor and the authentic haute patisseries have made this French-inspired cafe a Charlotte staple.
Read moreGoing to Amélie’s is an experience. While, I will admit, a little bit of the charm has been lost on me from their old location, this new location does its best to bring the kooky - unfortunately, by loosing a bit of its intimacy. Nonetheless, Amélie’s is worth the trip.
There are many patisseries that are vegetarian friendly. Unfortunately, in true French fashion, finding vegan friendly is more difficult. They had a peanut butter chocolate tart that was vegan when I visited, and it was more than enough to satisfy my sweet tooth.
For drinks, they offer alternative mills for all your standard drinking fare. But honestly, the legit French goutes and gaudy set dressing is what draws a crowd.
Make sure to visit this Charlotte bit of weirdness next time you visit!
Pros: Kooky decor, French patisseries
Cons: Not entirely vegan, Few vegan options
