delightful, comfortable, friendly - Edit

Stayed here recently and would certainly recommend. The rooms are very comfortable, well equipped, clean. Breakfast is excellent, everything a vegetarian or vegan could want, e.g. scrambled tofu, mushrooms, soya yoghurt, freshly made fruit salad. Owners and staff are very friendly, there was a log fire in the dining and sitting rooms.

Pros: comfortable, great breakfast, homely without having to do the work!

Why stay anywhere else ? - Edit

Ambleside Manor is a beautiful period building, in its own grounds, exquisitely furnished, two minutes walk from the town centre.
The veggie/vegan breakfasts are terrific, the staff are friendly and helpful, and they do package deals with co-owned venues Fellinis and the town cinemas.
All you need for a brilliant holiday in the Lake District.

Pros: Super breakfasts., Quality accommodation, Good staff. good location.

gorgeous hotel - Edit

my partner and i stayed at the hotel for three nights. we booked the 3 nights dinner deal which includes either a three course dinner or a movie and a two course dinner at zefirellis or fellinis for each night of the stay.
the breakfast was wonderful and very filling, the suite absolutely gorgeous and the staff was very nice and attentive.

the only down side (pun intended) was that the duvets were down duvets. I'd expect more from a vegetarian hotel, to be honest.

Pros: gorgeous rooms, nice location, close to town center, tasty breakfast

Cons: down duvets!

Beautiful Vegetarian Guest House - Edit

Ambleside Manor is a lovely vegetarian Victorian Country guest house, set in two acres of grounds, ideally situated within easy walking distance of Ambleside town centre. It is quiet and peaceful, as set back from the road in large gardens, there is no traffic noise.

I booked their three night break, including breakfast with dinner one night at each of its sister venues Zefferellis and Fellinis (both highly recommended) and added on a Sunday night as an extra.

The first thing we came across, as we got out the car was a small deer, roaming in the undergrowth, who apparently visits with his mum, but on this occasion, was alone.

Our room for the first three nights was room seven, a lovely airy room, with a small seating area, plenty of storage space, tea and coffee facilities, TV and good sized bathroom. There is a fridge where soya and dairy milks were available on the landing, along with a guest computer and free Wi-Fi.

Breakfast is served in the magnificent dining room, with its marble fireplace, wood panelling, high ceilings and decorative windows, it is a lovely room to dine and start the day. To start is a buffet breakfast including fresh fruit, fruit salad, mixed berries, cereals, dried fruits, fruit juices, fruit smoothies, soya yogurt and milk, with clearly marked vegan options.

A full breakfast is available, including vegan sausages but do think a vegan substitute for eggs would be a nice idea, vegan omelette made with chickpea flour or scrambled tofu, to make for a full vegan breakfast option.

Our last night involved moving to room ten, which I thought was even nicer than room seven, with views over the gardens and very well presented and really spacious.

We so enjoyed Ambleside Manor we have booked again for Spring 2017 and with two vegetarian restaurants Zefferellis and Fellinis in the group just up the road Ambleside is an excellent base for vegetarians and vegans.

Pros: Vegetarian , Vegan Options, Vegan friendly

Cons: More vegan breakfast options needed
