CLOSED: Amazing Grace Whole Foods And Nutrition Center

I've been going to Amazing Grace for years, even before I lived in Louisville. While they don't have the biggest selection (who can compete with Whole Foods?), for the Highlands they are the vegan sanctuary. A lot of specialty products make them special, from exotic chocolates to vegan marshmallows, to seasonal, local produce.

They have a good health and beauty section, as well as dog and cat food galore. They can order pretty much anything you want and will usually price match other stores as well. If patient, you can get good advice from the employees on the products and foods they sell.

The deli comes and goes, but is usually quite solid with one or two vegan soups, sandwiches, wraps, and a host of vegan baked goods (as of this writing they are spectacular).

Best of all, this is Louisville's true independent, family-owned health food store. It's one of a kind and has remained that way since its inception over 14 years ago. I recommend Amazing Grace to any health-conscious shoppers, vegans, or locavores in the area, or those just passing through.

Stopped here for some snacks and found this place to be very vegan friendly. They had sweet and sara marshmallow items, vegan desserts and lots of other vegan items. Great place.

This place is great! Fantastic selection, best prices, and helpful, friendly staff. I'd recommend this health food store before any others in Louisville.

all items in the pastry case is now vegan, unless otherwise noted. Great atmosphere, nice staff. If they dont carry an item, they will always order it. (I got them to start carrying Chicago Soy Dairy ice cream)

I started shopping here when my 7 year old was born and I still shop here. The prices have gone up and they can be a bit more than other health food stores in town but it's worth it on some things. I use to work at Wild Oats and have shopped at all health food stores in Louisville and I can say one thing about Grace, if they do not carry the item most likely 99% of the time they can order it and get it in. They carry rare items that NO other health food store in the entire city carries or can carry. They carry a lot of vegan cheese (including the Vegan Gourmet I got them to carry) and even VEGAN chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream from Temptation! If you are looking for a good selection of vegan deli items (like sandwiches) they have a great bunch and even with vegan pastries. The vegan brownies are to die for! They've even recently started carrying a lot of the vegan candy/sweets that I use to only be able to buy from Pangea.
