Wonderful Bakery - Edit
Love little independently owned places like this. ✨Very friendly, helpful staff who were well-versed on what vegan is and what their vegan selections were. Unfortunately, the chocolate raspberry tart is the only vegan pastry item they currently offer and they were sold out when I got there. Three stars instead of four, just because they don't have more vegan pastries or cookies. That said, ALL their sourdough bread except the Parmesan is vegan.

Amazing Breads is a local coffee shop and bakery. I was in the area and I had some extra time so I had to stop.
Read moreThey had fresh baked bread and many non-vegan bakery items. After confirming the loaf of bread I was interested in was vegan, the green olive sourdough, the young lady offered to slice it. I asked about having any other vegan items. I was in luck. They had chocolate raspberry tartlets made with coconut flour. She said she wasn't vegan but really liked these. Boy, was she correct. They were delicious.
Make sure to ask about vegan items if you go in...the tartlets were hidden away.
I'm sure the more people that stop in and ask for vegan options
the more they wlll make.
I'll be stopping in the next time I'm in the area.
Oh, the bread was fantastic as well. Fresh, crunchy on the outside, soft and yummy on the inside.
Pros: Customer service, very helpful and happy people., Items were freshly made and tasted terrific, Cute little shop
Cons: Would love to see a few more vegan options.

Their bread really is amazing! - Edit
Bought a loaf of whole wheat sourdough bread, a vegan chocolate raspberry tart and a non-dairy tea latte. I really love the vibe of this independent cafe…a refreshing change over that Seattle chain with the green siren/mermaid. The bread was awesome for toasting at home and making vegan grilled cheeze and the chocolate tart and drink was delicious. Staff was very friendly and helpful with my questions.

@vegan51 Thanks for the recommendation! When in HP, I usually make Madam ZuZu’s’s my stop on the way to Chicago Botanic Gardens. Chunky Scone could be a fun new place that I will try next time!

I would also recommend that you try Spirit Elephant in Winnetka. One of my favorite vegan restaurants. In Glenview at the Glen a new vegan restaurant is opening up. Alice and Friends is currently in Chicago. Have you been to either of these restaurants?

@vegan51 Yes, thank you! I love both of these restaurants. In fact, Spirit Elephant was my choice for family birthday dinner. Haven’t been back to Alice since just before Covid but only because we haven’t been in that area for awhile.

Thanks for the Chunky Scones recommendation! I checked that off my list of new spots on Saturday. The tres leches cup is my new favorite dessert 😋
