Large portions, wasteful “disposable” serving ware - Edit
The first thing we appreciated about Alys is that the menu says that they use separate cookware for vegan items.
Read moreThere are several vegan or veganizable items on the menu. We had the falafel gyros and the mezze plate for two, and both were robust portions and delicious.
Note that they use plastic cups and “disposable” serving ware even for dine-in orders, some of which is recyclable in theory but in practice most plastic sent for recycling in the US is not actually recycled, so consider bringing your own to-go containers to reduce waste.

Read moreWe do have a two channel fryer and one is dedicated entirely to vegan foods.
We also recycle all of our dinnerware. Our kitchen is too small to have dishes and glassware.

Yummy vegan falafel gyro - Edit
They have a good subset of vegan options (relative to other places in Taos) and a good selection of non-alcoholic beer. Vegan falafel gyro and vegan breakfast burrito were so tasty. We would be regulars at this place even if it were in a more vegan saturated market; in Taos it feels like a godsend. I appreciated the modest food wrapping too. 🙏

Little restaurant along the road entering Taos.

Different menus for breakfast or lunch/dinner with burgers, gyros, dishes and desserts.
The vegan choices are clear indicated.
The food was delicious and the staff was really nice.

They have a vegan tofu scramble breakfast burrito, black bean burger, falafel wrap, dolmas, and za'atar fries. The portabella gyro is not vegan as it is marinated in worcestershire sauce that has fish. Many drink options and alternative milks, I had a turmeric latte with oat, yummy
