All Round Brilliant - Edit
Love this place, the food is just fantastic, all home made, very creative and packed with flavour. An astonishing array of vegan cakes too, not just one or two to choose from, there were 8 yesterday when we went.
Read moreThey cook everything from scratch, organic and local where possible. the staff are fantastic too, very friendly and helpful.
Its good value for money and we have never left feeling hungry.
This is our favourite place to eat out, great location too, with a vegan baker moving in downstairs too, this just gives us another reason to visit.
Please support these people, they won't disapoint you.
Pros: Fantasttic food, very creative dishes, masses of vegan cakes
Cons: we would love to go more often

A lovely cafe and lovely food - Edit
Had some of the 'bao buns' which were definitely in no way bao buns but instead were in pitas so was a little disappointed. That being said it was very tasty and I enjoyed it after the initial moment of surprise at it being different.
Read moreThe cafe has a great sense of style with some very pretty decor which makes it an overall super pleasant dining experience.

The Almanac is a gorgeous little find in the back streets of Plymouth, the cafe is bright and airy with plenty of seating. It is housed above Jar, a refill store, Staff are knowledgable and friendly.

Well worth visiting 🌟 - Edit
We both had the all day breakfast and it was honestly one of the best things I’ve eaten on ages. Definitely the tastiest all day breakfast I’ve ever had and I could eat it all over again. Lovely atmosphere and staff and I can’t wait to visit again for some more seriously tasty food. Thank you!🤩

Delicious nutritious, local, low waste food made by the most kind and lovely people! - Edit
I love Almanac. The food is amazing. Caroline and Helen that run it are so lovely and genuinely care about providing food that is as local and low waste as possible. Everything Natalie makes is just delicious and I always leave feeling confident I’ve had about 20 different veg in one sitting! The cakes are also amazing, I nearly always make sure I can fit one in! The coffee is a special blend just for Almanac and as a new to coffee drinker I love it! Nothing is ever too much trouble and they have a lovely selection of books and even some toys for children round the corner in the slightly quieter room. Love this place and go as often as I can

Must visit - Edit
I implore you if you're looking for lunch in Plymouth to go to Almanac and order a chef's plate. They do small plates but the chef's plate gives you a little bit of everything and it's so good! Almost everything is local and the staff are incredibly passionate about where their produce comes from. The menu changes weekly so there's always something new when you go in and they have cakes made from local vegan bakers!

Amazing, fresh and healthy GF food - Edit
Jar 🫙 is an impressive and amazing store with everything a vegan needs for a healthy diet and healthy planet. Take your jar and fill it with goodness from the store. Now it’s even better and more complete with a cafe above it. We had the plate with a bit of everything and it was delicious.

Located away from the hustle and bustle, above Jar zero waste shop. Serves a really innovative menu, different than the others. Everything I've had has been so tasty. Ty the big plate, a little of everything, if you cant decide. I was so full there was no room for cake...and they're pretty good too!

Fantastic food, delicious coffee and a mellow, friendly atmosphere - Edit
Really lovely, out of the way (especially if you want to beat the Christmas crowds or 11 o'clock central Plymouth mayhem at the weekend) and really clean cafe/ restaurant. Roll right up to the counter and engage! Friendly and knowledgeable totally non-preachy folks who really know their food (vegan and how) and want you to have the very best experience. Ask what the food offering is and their enthusiasm is infectious, especially as you eat with your eyes first, so look at the display cabinet.....what a tantalising selection of heavenly cakes and savouries. I started with a vegan sausage roll and salad and it was so lovely (as was the coffee) that I also stopped for a small bowl of sunshine soup with Heyl focaccia....totally delicious. I had to have another coffee too, would have been rude not to!. A great morning/ brunch. Thank you all. My stomach was hugging me and whispering "Thank you so much, mmmmm" when I left, smiling. I will definitely be back to work my way through the menu.
Read morePros: Warm fresh baked sausage roll, crisp tasty salad, The sunshine soup, The coffee with non dairy milk, no judgement
