Big Waits for Small Plates - Edit
I ordered Khobz ‘Arabi (bread), Mai Nekhi (Kuwaiti spiced chickpea broth soup), Batata Mchermla (roasted potatoes dressed in Moroccan chermoula), and Fasolia bi-Zeit (Syrian green beans sautéed in olive oil with garlic and twist of lemon). I received the warm and flavorful soup immediately. However, I waited another 75 minutes for the rest of my order. The chef did warn us there would be at least a half hour wait, but I didn't expect that to double! I appreciate that it's just one person working in another restaurant's kitchen, but I wouldn't have eaten here had I known of the long wait. In fact, my two companions actually had to leave before the food even arrived. The chef did apologize for the wait and graciously gave me free hummus to eat with the warm, fluffy Khobz ‘Arabi. It was a satisfying combination, but unfortunately, I did not like the Batata Mchermla or the Fasolia bi-Zeit. I wish the chef well with future pop-ups, but I will not return.

Excellent. - Edit
We've been to Alley Mezza twice. The lively outdoor seating is shared with a few other carts and a brick-and-mortar restaurant and is spacious and more charming than most pods. Cocktails, wine, and beer are available. A.M. itself has fantastic food, including what may be the best baba ghanoush in town. The mutabbal, hummus, and salads were great and the thick, warm pita was perfect for dipping. Presentation is elevated and worthy of date-night. The lovely owner does justice to his food and hospitality. We're looking forward to another visit to keep working our way through the menu.
