Wary of my word limit, I will try to keep this as terse as possible. I could easily wax lyrical about the opulent setting, I could happily submit reams about the stupendous level of service, and I could ramble on about the serene ambiance, but simply put: this place was sheer excellence. I will admit that initially I had my doubts about the semi-buffet arrangement, but it worked seamlessly and was worth every fil of the higher-than-usual price tag.
Read moreOne aspect that I will indulge you in further is, of course, the food. Across the board, whether it was self-service dishes, the concoctions from the in-house juice bar, or the plated menu items, the highest quality was evident throughout. Oozing with class at every turn, even the most humble of creations—the baked beans—were house-made and elevated well beyond the usual incarnation you’d be accustomed to finding on such a spread.
Though genuinely impressive, the beans were not the culinary highlight of my visit. Narrowing it down to one dish was an arduous task, but the perfectly prepared congee just about took the nod ahead of the refreshing açaí bowl and the deceptively moreish porridge.
A special mention has to go to the gluten-free section. Usually a graveyard of familiar shapes masquerading as edible foodstuffs, here there were a multitude of glorious delights to be found—specifically the incredible range of Skinny Genie products. While I wouldn’t recommend the pancakes, I can thoroughly endorse the pastries and the waffles.
After such effusive praise, I am sure you can decide as to whether or not I think you should visit this establishment. Go, treat yourself; you deserve it!
