WOW!

Update: I went back on 5-31 for lunch and it did not disappoint! The wraps and hummus were absolutely awesome. The milkshake was as good as any I've had in the US. This is a definite must visit in Seoul!
April: I stopped in here on a whim because my friends were down the street in a non-vegan cafe having dessert. I thought maybe I could get something sweet here. I hit the jackpot! Their menu looks fabulous, but I had already eaten lunch at another vegan place, so I got several desserts to take home. The Oreo chocolate cake and the red velvet cake are absolutely amazing. I also got several of their cookies and a slice of pound cake. Everything I brought home was absolutely delicious! The next time I'm in Seoul, I will definitely stop in here for a full meal!

Pros: Everything I tried is fantastic 😊

Never disappoints

Nicest staff on earth, delicious food and great atmosphere. The prices are okay-ish, but the food is worth it! I recommend the power green smoothie, the meatball sandwich (very good if a little small, at least for me) and the mushroom burger its a little random but their salad dressing is 11/10.

Pros: delicious western vegan food, great staff

Delicious food but the place is a bit dark

We tried this other location. Much less crowded than the main restaurant. Same great taste. The place was a bit dark and didn't feel as cosy as the other location. It's good to have a more private and quiet coffee time

Pros: Delicious cakes, Lots of choice

Yum!

This place is usually pretty busy. So plan to wait. But oh my goodness, their dessert and milkshakes are delicious. They change the bakery menu, so you dont always find the same thing twice. The food menu is good too. But their desserts are better. But either way, I've yet to be disappointed. Worth a trip!

Cons: Not enough seating, Not open Sunday

Good location, good food

I’ve been here a couple of times. It’s very close to Itaewon station. Always busy but the food was served in the right time. On my last visit I ordered a vegan tofu wrap but there was too much tofu in it and it wasn’t very tasty. But the burger my boyfriend ordered tasted good and the expensive smoothies were special and delicious so I think it’s worth visiting again. I'm curious about the desserts here.

One of my favorite vegan restaurants in Seoul

Restaurant Name: PLANT Café & Kitchen

Location / Opening Hours / Contact Information/ Website Link: 2nd Floor, Itaewon-dong 130-43, Yongsan-gu, Seoul / Mon - Sat 11am-10pm (Kitchen closes by 9pm) / 02-749-1981 / https://www.plantcafeseoul.com/

Concept: Vegan restaurant and bakery opened in 2017. They moved from their original location (now a baking studio) to a larger location nearby.

Atmosphere: PLANT Café gets really busy in the afternoons (12-2 PM) and in the evenings (5-7 PM). The restaurant is like an indoor jungle. They have plenty of seats (solo, pair, group seating). They have a bathroom available as well.

Food: A variety of options (they have an online menu linked below). You can go in for a casual coffee dessert or a full meal. They use quality ingredients that make you feel good after you eat.

Service: A hit or miss. Service is not the best during busy/peak hours. Some of them get distracted easily talking to other workers.

Favorite Meal: Hummus & Roasted Squash Salad (big portion size & fresh). I also really enjoyed their spaghetti and meatballs. I recommend breaking the meatballs because they can be salty on their own.

Advice: I recommend trying out their chef’s special (₩15,000), which is only available on Wednesdays; therefore, you can try out a variety of flavors. If you want to try out their pasta, you have to order after 5 PM. You order at the front and water is self-service. I recommend avoiding busy hours (e.g. 4:30 PM) as it can get loud and pretty crowded.

Price Range: online menu here (https://www.plantcafeseoul.com/restaurant-menu). I would say their prices are pretty reasonable and similar to other vegan restaurants in Seoul.

Plant Cafe Instagram Account: plantcafeseoul

Pros: Big Portion Sizes, Quality Ingredients, Variety of Options

Cons: The occasional poor service

Great vegan desserts

I love cakes here. Desserts are so good that you won’t get disappointed! Plus point for stainless steel straw and very supportive for any kinds of environmental & vegan event promotion. Minus for un-friendly staffs & unprofessional looking kitchen.

Solid

Small little place with three tables. Was empty when I went on a sat afternoon. Got two small and very nice cookies as well as a raspberry tea for 8,000. Girl working there spoke good English.

Pros: Cheap, Nice vegan baked goods and a wide selection, Clean and well kept

Great cakes

I found what I expected - rich tasting cakes that look great and are very delicious. Great place to satisfy not too healthy dessert needs. The prices are a bit steep, especially of drinks, but not too high to skip this place when visiting Itaewon.

Pros: Tasty, free wifi, good variety

Cons: A bit pricey

Small chill spot

This place is owned by the same people as Plant down the road. It seems to have mostly the same baked goods but I liked the atmosphere more here. There wasn't as many people as there usually is at Plant and it is a little bit smaller. The staff was friendly and the food was great. Would recommend.

For cake lovers

The interior is quite nice but bit run down, also the seats are too close to other tables. People seem to praise their (as in Plant's) desserts the most, but I found them to be average at best and waaaay to sugary. I liked the crumble cake best but I wouldn't buy the muffins or cookies again. You could tell they're quality desserts but they didn't feel too healthy. I know it might seem unfair to expect desserts to be healthy, but I guess I just prefer the organic taste and ingredients in general. Service was okay but not too friendly. All in all, it's not the kind of place I'd visit again by myself, but I'd probably come back to share a cake with a friend.

I miss the food here more than is humanly possible

I've been meaning to write a review for Plant since I visited it in Seoul in November 2014. It was right next to my hostel and the food was INCREDIBLE. There are only three dishes on the menu (this may have changed since I was there) but all of them had so much flavour, I was raving about this place to my vegan friends back home and went there everyday to eat at least one meal. I would go back to Seoul just for this cafe! If you're in the Itaewon area make a visit, vegan or not. Plus it's not expensive at all. Hands down one of the best vegan cafes I've ever been to!

Pros: amazing food!! the cakes were so good, lovely staff :), nice cosy cafe

Cons: it's small but it's not a problem, just means you

Hidden treasure

It took me forever to find this place, but god was it worth it. Affiliated with the vegan restaurant Plant, Alien's day out bakery serves cakes and meals, wich makes it difficult to resist.
To get there, you need to take line 6, station Itaewon, exit #4
Walk straight when you get outside. Turn left into an alley (now that's the tricky part, the alley is the one just before McDonal's, so when you come across McDo, turn around and turn right in the fist alley you see)
Walk down the little hill until you see a store called Juliet (can't miss it, it's right in front of you)
Turn left, walk straight until you see Greek on the go to your right (Greek restaurant), turn right into the alley and it's only a few minutes away. Usually, there's a sign with an arrow at that point. It's a small place, but people are extremely nice and speak perfect english!
If you are having trouble finding the place, there's an information kiosk in the subway station, on your way out. That's how I found it in the first place.
Order the burger, it's to die foorrrr ! :D

Excellent For Reminding Me Of My Mother's Baking

Having lived in South Korea, I had neither an oven, or my mom to cook her delicious vegan breads (especially chocolate zuccini, or bananna), and other vegan goods. This bakery compensated plenty for my mom's absence with it's wonderful baked variety.
