New review: Now a meat/fish bistro but with same restaurant name.
Old review: Their falafel wrap was yummy and fairly priced. Service friendly. Only wish they had vegan desserts all the time.

Very good food, friendly staff, nice place

The wraps we had, were very good: falafel and halloumi.
Nice place, lots of plants: good atmosphere.
Friendly happy staff.

Pros: tasty food, menu is clear about vegan/vegetarian, nice place

Not vegetarian

Alfalfa used to be amazing. Recently though, they have become less good and more expensive. It used to be a cozy bar with great, cheap vegetarian and vegan food. Now they've really become a restaurant but not a particularly good one. They're also not (fully) vegetarian anymore despite what this page says. They still have good vegan options, though.

Lekkerste falafel in de buurt!

Al lang de beste falafel maar sinds renovatie lekkere nieuwe gerechten bijna allemaal vegan. Super vriendelijk. Voor geboden kwaliteit echt goedkoop.

Alfalfa 2.0, now even better

Awesome falafel place that recently got upgraded: more space and a larger menu. At noon you can still get the famous falafel sandwiches, but apart from that you can also have a dining experience with some food sharing starters and mains, most of which are vegan. All come with matching beer/wine available.

Great place to have a nice vegan lunch or a longer evening on the terrace outside.

Pros: Most of the food is vegan (and delicious!), Nice interior, good service, Best falafel in town

Cons: Terrace is sunny, but loud (at crossroads)

Very nice lunch, bright interior

Vegan options are clearly labeled on the menu (the menu is in very small print though, some larger letters would be helpful😉
The mushroom pesto dish was not available that day, pity, sounded good!

We had the falafel sandwich (10€) and the falafel dish (12€) (falafels with baba ganoush).
Both were nice.
The sandwich came wrapped in oven paper. When unpacking, it was a bit unhandy to eat.
Both were large portions, but 10€ for the sandwich was perhaps somewhat overpriced.
Falafels were nice, although a bit dry.

For drinks we had lemonades (ginger lemon 3€ and lime mint 3,5€), which were nice.

Nice place. Bright. Outdoor seating as well. Toilets also clean.
Only part of the inside is accessible, one room is elevated (step of about 1 foot). No accessible toilet.

Nice

My wrap was amazing and so big that if you order one, you'll be sure there's plenty to eat!
Fresh ingredients and quick service! We sat outside and it was very pleasant! I'll definitely be back again.

Great falafel

I have had a lot of falafel in my life, I have been to the Middle East and had it there, and I can assure you: this is the real thing! Awesome falafel in a mostly vegan restaurant. Cute little place, bringing new life and energy in a formerly dreary part of town.

Excellent falafel in Leuven!

In February 2018, I was delighted to see a fully vegan place in Leuven again and especially with a concept that we had not yet based on falafel!
Meanwhile they have apparently become vegetarians (I saw some yoghurt, honey..... on the menu).

It is a nice place, a nice location, very nice staff and food made around falafel variants.

There are no real desserts, ask the chef, maybe they have something for you now and then.

It is also nice that they are open until 21h00.

Highly recommended for falafel lovers in Leuven.

Awesome place

I went to Alfafa in my first day here with a non-vegan friend, and we were both pleased with the flavor, price and amount of food.
We have been recommending it to everyone we can, because it is very good.
Besides, the place has a good vibe and many locals go there.

best falafel I've ever had

One of my go to places when I need some comfort food and have no time to cook. Their falafels are so good and freshly made. Staff is also very friendly. You can only pay by Card

Fantastic food

I think the falafel were the best falafel I've ever had! Also the combination with asparagus, olives and cilantro matched so well and was full of flavor.
Reasonably priced, nice staff.

Just the place itself lacked a bit of atmosphere. AND not everything on the menu was vegan. There were two non-vegan items, so make sure to ask the staff.

cosy nice place

The menu has only three options. We tried two of them and were pleasantly surprised. The vegan brownie is also very nice ! It's a small and cosy place , definitely recommend !
