Alfalfa House

I was a weekly regular pre 2009. Came here recently and was shocked by the inflated prices. I have written to the committee about their high prices and to explain and justify, it is a food co-op they buy in bulk and they haven't replied.
Unfortunately up the road are more organic health food shops that charge much less. They have three different prices which i find discriminatory. Didn't get the HC sticker.

Pros: organic produce, Clean looking, Fresh fruit &veggies

Cons: Expensive

Awesome co-op shopping!

Good selection of tempeh and vegan meats/cheeses as well as well priced foods! Recommend becoming a member for even better discounts!

Get the veggie box!

Wonderful co-op. Would highly recommend getting the veggie box (can be delivered for free) plus the fruit add on.

Awesome concept and products

Their weekly veggie box is great value and quality! A great place to reduce packaging when shopping.

I just wish I lived closer

I’ve only been here once or twice, but this is a very rad shop with a huge selection of ‘scoop’ bulk products.

Great range of dry-goods

A really fantastic concept, with the best range of dry-goods (flours, nuts, spices) I've seen in Sydney. And in one of the most gluten-phobic cities in the world, they even have gluten flour for making seitan! There are also some nice little things - soaps, pana chocolate - around the till. I'd recommend a visit, and even a house membership (valid for everyone living in your household), especially if you live nearby.

awesomely eco

I love Alfalfa House. Not only are they super vegan friendly (co-op is all vegetarian) they also have very little packaging and are very eco friendly. They host workshops and classes too, I went to a raw vegan one once. You can volunteer there and get to know your local community as well as receiving a discount for your hours. Definitely support them!
