Hi Billy, we apologise for being closed during August, we have been carrying out important work to reopen at our new improved location, We are now open down at Custom House, 9 The Strand, EX31 1DJ - still in Barnstaple less than 4 minutes walk from the old premises.

Relaxed dog friendly cafe - Edit
Relaxed dog friendly cafe with so much choice, we opted for the Buddha Bowls which were delicious and enormous! Considering the ingredients used which are not cheap they really are a steal for the price. The lady that served us was very polite and friendly - we wouldn’t hesitate to return if we come back to the area in the future.

Visited Aleafia for lunch whilst in the area on holiday. Gorgeous cafe on the first floor, with wellness space, treatment rooms and eco products for sale. A real community vibe. Plenty of choice on the menu, would’ve liked to try several options, but went with the Buddha bowl with sweet potato and black beans. One of the best Buddha bowls I’ve ever had, it was absolutely delicious and nourishing. I loved the seed topping for extra crunch and flavour. The cheezy sauce was divine. The cafe is dog friendly, the cafe also has a resident dog, Lady, who is very friendly. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Look forward to revisiting some day!

Situated in a yoga studio and gym you cannot help but feel a sense of wellness here. The food adds to the feeling and it all feels and indeed is very healthy. The Buddha bowl was very well put together and although not quite the healthiest option the nachos with homemade cheese were great. Agreed bonus was Kombucha on tap.

This is a proper vegan cafe. A safe place to eat without worrying about cross contamination. It is an ethical vegan cafe with a wonderfully hospitable owner and her dog.

Read moreThere’s a really chilled out vibe here, helped by the presence of Lady, the resident dog, who is well behaved & adorable! The menu is small but this only means that what they do, they do well. I’ve had the banana waffles and the sweet potato Buddha bowl, while my partner had the nachos. The chai latte and açai bowl are also delicious!
The customer service is amazing and everyone is really friendly. It’s also dog friendly! You cannot go wrong here! Pretty sure I’ll be back again before my holiday is over!

Honestly, I have been visiting vegan eateries all over Europe for several years and this place stands out as one of the very best. Tucked away in the corner of Barnstaple it is a total treasure trove of rainbow coloured plant-based eats. Check out the photos I posted, I couldn’t have even happier with what we had to eat! Make it a regular spot or seek it out if you’re visiting on holiday. Yum! 🌱
