Vegan bar foood - Edit
Big vegan menu, lots of things to choose from . The Nashville hot chicken wasn’t spicey really tho they should bump It up a few notches. Chickn n waffles was good but no vegan butter. It’s good though glad there is vegan menu!

Blown away - Edit
I had dinner here while visiting the area with family and was absolutely blown away. First off, I was not prepared for just how many vegan options there would be here. They have an entire separate vegan menu, including not only entrees but also appetizers, soups and salads, shakes, and desserts.
Read moreFor appetizers, I had both the fried pickles and Brussels sprouts, both of which were excellent. The real show-stopper, though, was the vegan Korean chicken sandwich that I ordered for my meal. This was absolutely delicious. The "chicken" was made of tofu, and honestly (even as someone who generally likes tofu) it far exceeded my past experiences with tofu as a meat substitute. It was fried to perfection and had the most delicious seasoning/sauce. Just an incredible sandwich. There is a non-vegan version of this on the menu too, and I appreciate that the vegan version did not feel like a "lesser" version -- it was every bit as indulgent as I imagine the non-vegan version also was.
Fries were also pretty good, as well as the mocktail that I ordered. I only regret being too full to try any of the shakes or desserts -- the shakes especially looked really good! I'll definitely be back here the next time I'm in the area.
Pros: Extensive vegan menu, Amazing food and drinks

Arrived shortly after opening on
Read moreMother's Day (without a reservation) for brunch and got seated immediately. Our server was very friendly, (service was a bit slow, but we weren't in much of a hurry so it wasn't an issue). The espresso martini and pineapple mule were unexpectedly delicious. Half of the menu is vegan. Got the vegan breakfast burrito --- it was tasty and just the right amount of food. Vegan cookie milkshake to go for the win! Glad we made this the final stop on our road trip to Michigan!

A lot of vegan options - Edit
I’ve been to this place many years ago and was obsessed with the vegan fried pickles. Today we got the vegan version of a National Hani and chili cheese fries. The (V)ani was pretty dry without much flavor and there was not nearly enough cheese on the fries. The menu items range from $15-20 per item (not including fries with the sandwich) extra $4. If you’re looking for vegan junk bar food, it’s a good option and your non vegan friends will also find something to eat.

Inconsistent. - Edit
Stick to the chicken sandwiches. Service has been a mixed bag since we have gone a few times. The chili cheese fries were soggy and flavorless. The pumpkin shake was good when we had it, but check for seasonal flavors.

Best thing: Turn over the regular menu to find an entire PAGE of vegan options. It's all bar food, burgers, tacos, fries, but tasty. Loud, busy bar.

Bar with vegan bar food! - Edit
Loved the vibe of this establishment - it felt like a classic Irish pub with great beers on tap. Appreciate the separate vegan menu and would not expect anything different as far as options go! I will echo the other reviews and say it’s definitely too expensive for the food and vibe they are going for.

Appreciate the options and separate prep! - Edit
This is definitely a staple for nights out and need vegan comfort food. Definitely appreciate the commitment to preparing the food separately. Only gave it three stars because they pretty much only have fried food and replacement meats and are prone to mistakes in orders. Everything is loaded with salt.

Ate at Ale Mary's Royal Oak this weekend and had their Vegan Triple Decker with Hot Honey & Korean Shrimp. The fries and chicken were nice and crispy. The shrimp tasted just like the sea that even grossed out my seafood hating husband even when it's vegan 😆

We used to love this place.. - Edit
My fiancé & I used to love this place but the past few years the food has gotten super greasy & just not worth the money. It’s so pricey (just the food,we don’t drink). We supported them a lot before/during covid, and the staff has gotten super rude. When you order carry out you have to go to the bar to pick it up & every time you would go there the bar tender who was busy (which we totally get) would get pissed off having to help you. We’ve talked to other people & they experienced the same things. Makes me sad because we love to support small local businesses!

Terrible and tasteless - Edit
For the money my husband and I spent on tonight’s dinner this was a pure flop!!! To start the service was lazy and everyone seem to have a snippy attitude and by no means was it a busy day to create such poor attitudes. We ordered all on the vegan side starting with onion rings. The onion rings were almost burnt and not seasoned when they arrived. The offered ranch as a side dip which was watery and too sweet to taste like a real ranch. The fried pickles followed, these were wet on texture and were huge full length spears which was just overwhelming to eat more than 2. My husband got the impossible whopper which I tasted and was barely looked and had zero flavor (this was comped from our bill in the end) I got the chicken pita which honestly was pretty good but could use a little more moisture to it as the fried “chicken” was very dry. Tonight was my birthday and I was pretty disappointed …waitress came out with a carrot cake which I took home to try…I threw it away after the first bite it tasted like freezer burn or a cardboard box!!! I have no idea what was going on here but bleghhhhh I’d never go again which is so disappointing since vegan restaurant options are few and far between 😩

A bit overrated, but still good - Edit
I’ve given this place a few chances and I don’t see what the hype is all about. Don’t get me wrong - the food is good. But not any better than all the other good places and pretty expensive for the portions, plus constantly packed. If you find yourself in downtown Royal Oak looking for a sit down meal and bar, this is certainly your best option, but otherwise I’d choose a lot of other restaurants first
