Comfy, Interesting Restaurant - Edit
We ordered several small dishes for dinner; hummus and some typical dishes. Very home-made-style.
Read moreI really liked the decor and friendly service. Seems like you're eating in someone's home!
Pros: Good selection of dishes, Probably only vegan restaurant in Faro right now

Vegan top restaurant - Edit
I had a 5 hour layover in Faro and I was in the need of an early dinner. I was lucky enough to find this vegan restaurant. It is cozy, and it has an awesome decoration. The staff was really nice and provided a fresh pasta salad with legumes and peas, seasoned with soya yoggurt, even though I came there too early for the dinner menu. I truly recommend this restaurant :)

Good food, lovely service - Edit
Since we went on a bank holiday, I can't say much about the warm dishes (no warm lunch menu). The waitress tried her best though to whip up some veggie soup and hummus with bread for incoming customers. Cakes were delicious!

Cozy, calm and very tasty - Edit
I've had a great big cup of tea and lasanha with soy meat for 7€ or so. It was great. There are many books you can read or buy and help out animals with that money. The interior is very cozy and beautiful.

okay - Edit
The chocolate carrot cake was really really good, the iced tea was just cold tea, nothing special. Nothing on the menu that sounded amazing, my parents didn’t want anything only I had the cake (which was exceptional)

super tasty food and great staff - Edit
Everything on the menu is vegan. We had the portugese dish pica pau, a super tasty hummus (and I got glutenfree bread with it), a lentil quiche and tofu with mushrooms and it was all so delicious! The most tasty vegan food that I've ever tasted! For dessert I had the chocolate chia pudding and it was perfect! My boyfriend had the carrot coconut cake but he didn't really like it that much. Overall it was great and the staff was friendly and helpful!

Great vegan place in Faro - Edit
It's not that easy to find vegan options in Portugal. This place serves delicious food and the place itself is very cosy with the atmosphere of the old town. Food is simple but very tasty. Medium prices.

OK place - Edit
Dropped in for a late breakfast. It is an okay place. Had tofu scramble which tasted much better than what I make, but I maybe had a bit higher expectations. My boyfriend on the other hand had some kind of a sandwich, and I do believe he was more satisfied than I was. Don't take me wrong - had I lived nearby would I have probably been a regular customer there, given the options in Faro. But having tried other places in Portugal, this one, though a pleasant memory, is on the average end of the scale.

Friendly - Edit
The food was lovely and the smoothies were excellent. The staff were nice but there was a mix up with our dessert and coffee, as they believed we had already received it when we were waiting for over an hour. However once we got passed the language barrier they were very apologetic and gave us complimentary cake. Would overall recommend.

OK for vegan food - Edit
Went in for lunch but they only had 2 options, lasagne and a burger. The lasagne was nice enough but the pasta was a little overcooked. My girlfriend had the burger, it comes without a bun and is served with a side of rice which is a little strange. She said it was quite dry and almost burnt, it did look quite crispy which isnt great for a bean burger.
Read moreThe drinks options were also a little lacking, the options were lemonaid or coldbrew tea. The lemonaid was just lemon squeezed into water.
Overall not too expensive but definitely not cheap either. 2 lunch courses (pretty small) and water with lemon in it for 15 euro.
For me it is an overall OK, it filled a hole. 3 stars.
Think if I had the burger I'd have given a 2 or 1 star.
Pros: everything they have is 100% vegan.
Cons: not many options, food overcooked.

Yay for a vegan restaurant in Faro! - Edit
It's a vegan place with good food and nice staff. My only complaint is that I feel the servings were too small and I didn't feel completely full after finishing my plate (which has always happened at other veggie restaurants I've been to).

Amazing - Edit
My only regret is that I only went to Mel e Limão for dessert, especially after having just a big plate of veggies with bread for dinner at a non-veg restaurant.
Read moreThe restaurant is filled with vegan/AR messages, there are many tables, it is spacious and there are a few tables outside.
I ordered a cake with apricots and coconut cream. I am not usually a fan of coconut cream, but this was simply delicious.
If I lived in Faro, it would definitely be my favorite restaurant.
There are also a few beauty products (hair, lips, face) on sale near the cashier.
Pros: Great vibe, Great food

Great cook - Edit
First things first: this restaurant is now all VEGAN! We went to Mel & Limao and had a great meal. Actually we went in the afternoon when it was between meals and were able to get coffee, a detox green juice and we could not pass up the carrot/oat cake with coconut whipped cream!
Read moreWe went back for dinner and had tapas...actually not tapas in the traditional sense but small bowls of different plates. We had a traditional Portuguese dish called the Woodpecker..it had pickles, potatoes and vegetables with seitan...I would never order something with pickles in it but it was fabulous! We then had an Indian spinach Saag and then a curried lentil dish. All delicious.
We are going back tonight. Mel is an accomplished cook and her small dishes each have very unique spices and character. Please visit, you will not regret it. It is a nice 10 minute walk from the main area through a nice neighborhood. Be sure to check out the Chapel of Nossa Senhora Do Pe da Cruz, a 17th century church right next to Mels. I love that she helps rescue dogs and her compassion for life.
Pros: excellent cook, nice atmosphere, vegan desserts

"perfectly vegan"! - Edit
A perfect place for vegans to feel at home! The owner and chef is vegan herself, and cooks wonderfully.
Read moreShe also manages a lot of dishes taken from Portuguese traditional cooking and reinvents them. Serves "tapas" (Petiscos), so one can taste severall dishes at the same meal. I highly recommend it.
Pros: super tasty Portuguese-like vegan reinvented food, quiet restaurant, the desserts are amasing
Cons: maybe too quiet, not that much "atmosphere"
