Must try for delicious vegan Middle Eastern food! - Edit
I could not wait to try this restaurant as absolutely love Middle Eastern food! Loved the outdoor seating area so decided to eat outside. The servers were all friendly, polite, helpful and eager to please. The menu had quite a few vegan options and I ensured that the dishes I selected were completely vegan using my V card in Tajik despite the servers speaking English quite well. I ordered hummus, muhammara, fattoush salad, felafels and Arabic pita with za’taar. The portions were good , the food was prepared made to order and came out quickly. I decided to try the homemade mint lemonade which came in a jug. Big portion! Delicious and refreshing.
Read moreAll in with service charge it came to $26 which I thought was comparable to back home. Looking at previous reviews indicating it was expensive, I didn’t think so but then this was my first meal in Dushanbe. I was happy to say for a homemade, delicious vegan meal with attentive service. Highly recommended!
Pros: several vegan dishes to pick from , good sized portions, extremely attentive, friendly service

SO good!!! - Edit
This restaurant is the best in Dushanbe for vegan options in my opinion - I had the hummus, falafel and spicy potatoes which were all delicious. Hard to find any other places with good vegan options so would recommend

Lebanese in Dushanbe - Edit
Good understanding of vegan. Happy to cater to vegan request, although only 6 dishes stated as vegan. Whole meal pita was freshly baked & delicious. Felafels were small but tasty. Hommous was good.

Cons: Not super cheap for the size of the portions. , Also serves non-veg stuff.

I was there today and there are more than 6 vegan dishes. Hummus, baba ganoush, muhammara, fattoush salad, other salads too, roasted potatoes, felafels, sides included rice, rice with cashews, roasted vegetables, various breads. I think that is a lot of vegan options in an omni restaurant.

Nice atmosphere - Edit
Under normal circumstances I would've been disappointed by the food but as a vegan in Central Asia you lower your standards :)
Read moreThere was a wide choice of vegan options, the staff knew English and was nice and attentive. The food was okay, the prices too high.

Be careful… old reheated food - Edit
After some time in rural Tajikistan, I was excited to try something else than just potatoes and vegetables. However, this restaurant ended up being the only one during my 3 week trip to give me severe food poisoning… the various mezze dishes came very quickly on the table, so I suspect most of them were quite old and just slightly reheated (e.g baraks filled with spinach). The food tasted generally ok, but the baraks and falafels were not very good. The orange juice had a weird taste, maybe the fruits they used had gone bad.

Really enjoyed the wide choice of good quality vegetarian mezze - especially the mutabbal, hummus and falafel were great. Also very friendly service.

Good Lebanese food, staff speak English - Edit
After 10 days of just about surviving on boiled potatoes and salads in rural Tajikistan, I was excited to eat hummus beiruti and babaganoush with fresh hot pita bread, couscous and fresh apple carrot juice at Al Sham - all pretty good considering it’s Dushanbe. Close to the central area. Menu also has other cold appetisers like stuffed vine leaves, mauhamarra and a falafel sandwich that can be done without mayonnaise. Nice ambiance to chill outdoors and do shisha too. Staff speaks enough English to customise dishes if needed.
