One of the best places in Murfreesboro

Almost half the menu is vegan, and the options are tasty, filling, and really well made.

Pros: Excellent food quality/variety, Great service

Clearly labeled options

Vegan and vegetarian options, of which there are many, are clearly labeled on the menu. The baba ganouj was delicious - as were the falafel and hummus. Unfortunately, the side salad that came with the falafel platter was old and mealy.

Hidden Gem

While it’s not a totally vegan place, we were ecstatic to find this while passing through on a road trip.

Very easy to order online for takeout. Vegan options were marked clearly. We got huge portions and it was all very inexpensive. Definitely will swing by again while traveling.

Best mediterranean food in town

Tucked away around the corner from their grocery store, this is a place you should check out. Probably half their menu is vegan, and is labeled clearly. Pastries are amazing, falafel and ma'quale platters are both awesome. I could probably live off their baba ganoush(eggplant dip). End the meal with a baklava (vegan!) and turkish coffee(not for the faint of heart).

upsetting experience

To sum up my experience: out of nothing the owner asked me what my religion is and I said nothing. The he said "I feel sorry for you"! First why do you ask such a moronic question from someone whom you do not know and is your customer? And how the hell you feel sorry? People should be sorry for you with this attitude toward life. Me and my roommates will not be their customer anymore.

Clearly Marked Vegan Items!

I am a fan of any restaurant that clearly marks its vegan items. This place is extra wonderful, however, because the food is not only delicious and freshly prepared but also offered at a very reasonable price. My two daughters and I all had a falafel platter, which cost only $6.99 each. We also shared a spinach pie and an arugula salad with pomegranate seeds. I posted pictures of everything except for the spinach pie, which was so delicious that we devoured it before we could get a photograph. My only negative thing to say about this restaurant is that the pita bread contained milk so it wasn’t vegan. The hummus and falafel were absolutely delicious, though, and we all licked our plates clean. My husband and I agreed that we would love to return when we are back in this area.

Pros: Vegan items marked, Delicious and fast , Inexpensive

Cons: Pita bread isn’t vegan

Tasty Arabic food

The selection of vegan dishes was large and the food was good (for Israeli standards:) ). Also the store is a good place to stock up on tahini sauce and other vegan treats.

Completely unexpected hidden gem!

Needed to find a place near the Jack Daniels Distillery on our way home to Canada and this was the closest town that had a few options. The two reviews that they did have looked promising so we took the risk and headed there. Completely surprised! At first we went in the market as we didn’t realize the entrance for the actual restaurant was around the side but the lady inside was nice enough to walk us through the back to show us. We walked in to find linen table clothes and napkins, a beautifully decorated dining room and a friendly host.

The menu was very clearly labelled vegan and vegetarian so we didn’t have to ask what was safe which Is always nice! I did however, have to ask about most of the menu anyway, as my experience with Middle Eastern food is quite limited. My husband and I shared a falafel platter (which the host recommended) a spinach pie and za’atar manouche (which was like a grainy middle eastern garlic thin crust pizza/flatbread If that makes any sense). They were both fantastic! The platter came with hummus, pita bread, and a tomato salsa type thing which I presume was the Tabouleh from the description on the menu. The hummus really was the creamiest! The pita bread was so fresh! We loved it so much we ordered another platter for the road and two sides of falafel as well! Our kids both had a cheese manouche which was like a thin crust pizza. Looked great. They seemed pretty happy with it, but couldn’t eat it all.

Normally by the end of the meal I start to stress about the bill. Dinner for 4 and a meal to go with sides I would expect it would be upwards of 80 or 90 US easily. Nope! $30!!!! This place looked totally fancy! Beautiful art work and photos, the ceiling done up with gorgeous gold treatments, lovely service, fantastic food and it was less then I use to spend at McDonald’s for my whole family back before we went vegan! Amaz balls!

Pros: Price!, Food - well labelled, really yummy, Beautiful, clean, setting

Cons: No kids menu/colouring or entertainment, Hidden restaurant entrance, Can’t think of a third con 😂

Hidden Gem!

Traveling from San Diego and so happy I found this place on HappyCow. The lentil soup and tabouleh was the best I’ve had.

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Friendly staff , Affordable

Cons: Wished the buffet had more vegan options

Plenty of vegan options

Al Rayan serves delectable food with plenty of vegan options. Loved the lentil soup especially, and the hummus was hands-down the creamiest I have ever tried. Only downside is that the menu doesn't specify what's vegan, only what's vegetarian. The staff was friendly and helpful in answering my questions. ***Edit*** vegan options are now labeled on the menu!!! Food is still excellent and super cheap. Get on Al Rayan’s level!

Pros: Best hummus, Nice atmosphere, Inexpensive
