Good dinner at lake sight - Edit
A nice restaurant near the coast of Lago Maggiore in the picturesque city of Ascona. They have a nice terrace which not only attracts humans, but also tits, doves and ducks who are happy to join the party.
Read moreThe menu does not tell directly what is vegan. The waiters understand what vegan means and can explain the vegan options on the menu. Next to two asian pads they also have a vegan bruschetta (starter) and spaghetti pomodoro (main). The bruschetta was our favorite.
The waiters work hard, are friendly and attentive. Unfortunately we did receive a can of cheese at our table, which the waiters serve by default.
Pros: Direct sight at the lake. , Tasteful , Waiters know what vegan means
Cons: Waiters bring cheese to the tables, uncalled for

Restaurant only offered few vegan dishes. We tried the vegan tofu bowl with rice, quinoa and hummus, which was nice. Everything was (quite) expensive and the staff wasn‘t too friendly. Good option but there are better ones.

Auf der Karte gibt es eine kleine Auswahl an klar deklarierten veganen und vegetarischen Gerichten. Der Hummus als Vorspeise, ist sehr zu empfehlen. Hausgemacht und sehr lecker! Die Pizzen sind ausgezeichnet sowie auch die asiatischen Speisen. Qualität top! Achtung die Portionen sind riesig, wir waren nach Vor- und Hauptspeise kugelrund.

Beautiful location, great Italian food - Edit
Having three pasta dishes to choose from is nice but the venue is the more interesting part: Situated right across the ship landing and with view of the busy square and lakefront. The food is great, I'm being told, and you can make your pizza vegan by omitting cheese.
