Return visit

Returned because the coffee is so good.
We have visited 3 times during our stay in Albufeira because the coffee is so good.
I have had the vegan date cake and it is lovely.
My wife (non vegan) had the carrot cake and said it is the nicest carrot cake she has eaten.

Hidden oasis, chill relaxing place

I had the avocado toast and the wild mushroom soup with a matcha latte soya for lunch. After that I had another matcha latte soya with a slice of date cake. There are 3 plant based milk options: soya, almond and oat for a surcharge of €0,30. There is also a shop where you can buy mugs and grinders and coffee and so on. It is a very relaxing spot in a sideroad away from the busy mainroad and you would walk by without noticing it is there. Recommend this place.

Pros: Vegan options of good quality, Matcha available

Cons: Vegan surcharge

Great find

Had the avo on sourdough toast and an iced latte. The iced latte with hazelnut syrup really hit the spot. The place has a chilled vibe, with a nice outdoor seating area and is dog friendly.

5 star service, 5 star coffee, 5 star experience

I can’t speak highly enough of this place, not only was the coffee absolutely delicious but the atmosphere and the interior / exterior design of the building was so welcoming and relaxing.
Not to mention the level of customer service that every single one of the staff members gave us. I’d go back again even if only for the service, they really know how to treat their clients.

10000% the best coffee spot!
Food was nice, only a few vegan options but nice variety of sweet / savoury choices to pick from.
Highly recommend.

Vegan friendly

Has quite a few vegan options, offers several alternative milks. I had avocado on toast with a side order of hash browns and mushrooms. I also tried a supercool latte with coconut milk, the blue mermaid latte, meant for stress. I got a coconut latte to takeaway as well

Excellent option of vegetarians or vegans

Algharb is a little gem in Albufeira with plenty of options of vegetarians and vegans. I had the eggs avodict and my daughter had the vegan burrito, it was gorgeous!!!! Their coffee is amazing (they roast the grains themselves) - for once I can drink my latte straight away, there’s just enough foam and it’s not too hot, just perfect. The garden area is so relaxing and pretty and the staff is super nice. I recommend 100%, the best coffee shop in the area!

Pros: Outdoor sitting area , Friendly and professional staff, Veggie and vegan options

Lovely vibe, great coffee

Had a lovely visit here yesterday! Great vibe to the place, and the staff were lovely (mentioned how we’d probably come back and so they suggested a loyalty stamp as your 10th coffees free!). If I remember rightly the vegan main options were avocado toast or a vegan version of the veggie burrito. I had the burrito which was absolutely delish and I love even more that they added vegan cheese to it because of a suggestion on here!
A great spot for brunch, especially if you’re with other non vegans.

Pros: Lovely staff, Oatly oat milk!, Delicious coffee

Cons: Only a couple of options - could be more!

good for vegetarians

the restaurant is beautiful and the coffee menu is extremely extensive, but there’s really not many vegan options. had the acai bowl with chia pudding, which was good, but quite a small portion. good for a light lunch or an afternoon pick-me-up, but it has a very limited menu. if i remember correctly, there’s two vegan dessert options. i didnt try them, but the flapjack was extremely tiny for the price. the date loaf also was quite small compared to what u could get for the same price in other places.

Pros: beautiful outdoor seating

Cons: not many vegan options

Al-Gharb Coffee Roasters

Beautiful restaurant and outdoor seating. What was frustrating is we went to this place to get take away coffee and tea lattes. They asked to sit down and wait for a server to take our order even though we were ordering coffee/tea for take away. We waited a half hour then went back to the counter to ask if we could just order the drinks so we could leave. Their response was that it would take a long time because they were working on orders in the kitchen...some other guy at the cafe also backed this up. Seems strange this is a coffee place and you have to wait ages to order a coffee/tea to go. Be prepared for this if you choose to try this place.

PS- I also perused the menu and saw there were few vegan items. I might have come back and tried them if I had confidence in this restaurant being able to prepare a meal, let alone a coffee/tea, within one hour.

Hi Synth. We are so sorry about your experience. This year we came out of the lockdowns with so much uncertainty and we’re overwhelmed by demand. We take onboard that our staffing and training were not what they should be. We’ve taken action and we are confident that this will not happen to anyone else again. I hope you will try us again in future.

Gorgeous cafe, looks like it could be vegan! Friendly owner

We saw a sign saying ‘the best coffee in the Algarve’, and it was the best my husband had tried! It was my first one, I had a decaf, salted caramel latte with oat milk and it was delicious! I had the burrito which is vegan when you exclude cheese and sour cream. I had extra avocado! The portion was big, and came with a relish. I added salt and pepper for extra flavour! I ate half and took the other half away as I wanted dessert. Would’ve been better with vegan cheese, but that wasn’t an option unfortunately. Then had the vegan flapjack and an oat chai latte, yummy. The owner was very friendly and chatty, he was so enthusiastic about his love for coffee, and was very knowledgeable on it. A gorgeous little bird was super tame and flew up to our chairs multiple times which was cute, and even landed on my husband’s knee. Lovely comfy chairs and great vibes.

Not great for vegans

While the aesthetics of this cafe are beautiful, very different from other local cafes, there isn't a great option for vegans hence low score. The vegan option buritto is just without cheese and sour cream. There was a healthy flapjack and they had alternative milks. Might be one small step ahead for the area but it would be good to see more effort for those who eat vegan - vegan cheese is available in a few local supermarkets after all. The coffee was nice at least, the only place with decent coffee!

Pros: Nice coffee, Garden is calming

Cons: Slow service , Lack of vegan options

Favourite spot in the Algarve

Big claim, I know. We stumbled upon this spot while searching for a coffee one Monday morning. We were headed to Praia Santa Eulalia. We enjoyed talking to the owner so much (unfortunately we didn’t get his name - huge mistake) that we said we would return for lunch the following day. Unfortunately they are closed Tuesdays and so after spending some time at the beach we decided to go back for a late lunch that same day.

My girlfriend and I enjoyed the Beetroot burger - which we were told was made in house and is the reason they even have burgers on the menu. We both had sweet potato fries and were very pleased with both the burger and the fries. Coffee’s are always delicious and beans are sourced from a friend of the owners in Lisbon (for now) while they get their own toaster up and running.

We returned on our last day in Albufeira for coffee and some of the baked goods (not sure if these are vegan). It was a wonderful experience all around, the owner gave us great recommendations for places to sightsee, and the other woman working with him was an absolute pleasure to be around as well. Both very friendly.

I would give this place 5 stars if I could!

Pros: Friendly , Great food/coffee, Beautiful space

Cons: Not sure if baked goods are vegan

Thanks for the lovely review - much appreciated.

Not all our pastry options are vegan - but we try to have an option available every day (and we try to make it obvious when we have) .
