Pros: Leckeres Essen, Zentrale Lage, Nettes Personal
Cons: -

One of my favourite cafes in Bali! - Edit
Akar, meaning "roots" in Indonesian, was one of the best cafes I visited during my stay in Bali. Located on the main tourist strip close to the beach, it was great to have lunch here. I ordered the Indian chickpea, aubergine and spinach curry which came with red rice, chutney and a samosa, as well as a smoothies, and then followed by a vegan chocolate banana crepe (amazing!!!). We came back for dinner and we had the chilli tomato spaghetti, and the Balinese red cashew fried rice, and a soy iced chai. Seriously, if you are in Lovina, you must come here!!
Pros: Delicious food, Friendly service, Labels vegan

must check it out - Edit
Amazing place, lovely atmosphere! The staff is incredibly friendly and it's a nice quite place to be. You can sit in the back next to a little river. The food is also really good, all fresh and extremely tasty! It's not cheap compared to the local prices but it's not expensive either. I'm definitly comming back!

good food, very expensive!!!! - Edit
The food is good. The portion is small and the price is high. It's even more expensive than some veggie restaurants in Ubud. A small salad costs 45.000 and soy latte costs 35.000 rupiah. This is Indonesia, not Europe!! I would come here everyday, maybe twice a day if the price was realistic, or at least if the portion was double of what is served.
Pros: healthy , tasty, vegan options
Cons: small portion, expensive , no vegan ice cream option

Go here! - Edit
This place is awesome! The Dahl was awesome and the middle eastern plate was too (except for the weird 3 bean salad on it). We went to a few other local restaurants before checking HappyCow and they were all mediocre and not exciting. Be sure to sit in the back by the stream, it's nice! They even have Vegan and Vegetarian in the backs of their shirts!!! :)

Great food - Edit
Not cheap, mains are around 50k where as I paid around 30k in most other places round about. But the food is probably the best I've had in bali. Staff are really on the ball with dietary requirements and the menu is well labelled for what's vegan. Not much in the way of atmosphere but pleasant enough.

Nice to find a veg friendly place after 2 days with bad food.

Few good items, but overall expensive - Edit
One of the more expensive meals we had in Bali-dinner for 2 without eating too much came to almost 200K Rp.
Recommended for vegans: vegan crepes
Falafels are ok but not your typical Middle Eastern falafel.
similarly, samosa is not your typical Indian samosa (more like a phyllo dough fried pastry stuffed with daal and mashed up potatoes)
Vegan mango ice cream is tasty.
Pros: mango ice cream
Cons: too expensive

the food here is really yummy and fresh. there's a good variety and it's healthy and delicious! the staff are friendly, nice and eco-conscious. they also have water refills available so you don't have to waste so much plastic. there's vegan options and a good dessert menu.
Pros: delicious food and reasonable prices, nice outdoor seating near a river, friendly staff, environmentally aware
