Comfortable familiar food - Edit

Great little cafe style venue. Staff were friendly and helpful. I had a burger, nothing special. The chips were undercooked.

Meh... - Edit

The food was okay, but not excellent. Google Maps couldn’t find a way from Shinjuku station other than walking to this place, which is quite a long walk. For how far out is, it wasn’t really that worth it. As far as prices go, this is by far the most expensive place we have also eaten at in Tokyo so far.

Pros: Full Vegan Menu

Cons: Expensive, Food has a very ‘artificial’ taste

our favourite spot in Tokyo - Edit

Terrific comfort food, good portions and sizes. The vegan Mac and cheese is so creamy! Loved the chikin burger. They even have desserts - the tiramisu is my fave.

Pros: all vegan

great fast food - Edit

Fan or not of fast food the burguers in this place are delicious. My favorite is the mock chicken one. The tiramisu is also a must.

Must eat! - Edit

Excellent burgers and fries, mostly mock meats. Good for a “naughty” hot meal. Ice cream is delicious, would recommend the rum and raisin! Omni family loved their meals also. Super cosy and friendly staff.

This place saved us so many times in Tokyo. The mac n' cheese had magic in it I think. So good.

Awesome burguers - Edit

I had to wait a little before sitting, but there is a place to wait outside so it’s ok. The burgers were great but I didn’t really enjoyed their cheese since it tasted too much like cow’s milk cheese (and I was never a fan of those). The flavour is really strong for me but I think it’s a positive thing overall, so if you miss cheese this is definitely the place to go! I also had the ice cream and it was fantastic!

Delicious food, friendly atmosphere - Edit

Ripple is a relaxed and friendly fast food establishment with a number of different options, all vegan. Upon arrival grab a seat and a menu and when you are ready order and pay at the counter, the food tends to arrive reasonably quickly.

Having tried several items on the menu I would definitely recommend the chicken burger, burrito bowl, MAC N CHEZ, chocolate brownie ice cream and muffins (cheeseburger and cheese fries were less of a hit with us, but this could just be personal taste).

You can also order falafel burger, salad boxes, chilli cheese fries, nachos, soup and a variety of desserts (some of these items are not on the regular menu although seemed to be available every time I have visited!).

The drinks are quite pricey but the food itself is good value for the quality! Not the best vegan burger I have ever had BUT definitely a place I will go to again and again!

Pros: Nice vibe, Good food, Good faux meat/ dairy

Cons: Slightly expensive drinks

Best Vegan Burgers in Town! - Edit

We eat at Ripple constantly (at least once a week) and have tried almost everything on the menu. My favourites are: Falafel Burger, Tiramisu, Hot Soup, Burrito, Rum Raisin Ice Cream, French Toast and the Hot Lemonade. We really love the casual vibe, friendly staff and convenient location!! Close to East exit of Shinjuku Station, Seibu Shinjuku Station and Toho Cinema in Kabukicho. Highly recommend!

Pros: Healthy fast food, Fully vegan, Amazing desserts

Cons: can fill up quickly at night

Mac and Cheese for breakfast. - Edit

We loved this place. My boyfriend and I stayed a couple blocks away, so we pretty much went once a day while in Shinjuku. The chicken burger is amazing, I can also recommend the lemonades, the little “snowball” treats next to the cashier and their macaroni and cheese, it is so good! The place is small and cozy and has a really good WiFi connection. If you are near the area definitely pay a visit.

Pros: their food, wifi connection

Cons: a bit small

Best Vegan Burger I've Had - Edit

I came here for dinner and had the "chicken" burger. It was so good! Although really simple (a crispy gluten meat patty, red cabbage, and tartar mayo), the flavour and texture balance was exceptionally good and left me really satisfied. It was also a really decent size, and I felt worth the 1100 value just as a full meal (even without any set add-ons), unlike some other burgers I've had in Japan. The wifi connection was fast and the staff are lovely.

Pros: Yummy!, Decent size and options, Nice staff

Tasty Fast Food - Edit

Food is good, nothing outstanding, but definitely a solid option if you're looking for fast food. I had the chickn and ripple burgers and mac n cheese. I liked the meatier texture if the chickn burger, but the flavor of the ripple burger. The ripple burger had a bit of a mushier texture. The mac n cheese was good. Overall a very good option in Tokyo. I am from NYC so I am a little spoiled when it comes to good vegan food.

Cons: A tiny bit pricey for the quantity of food you get

amazing burgers! - Edit

Hopped here after seeing the Godzilla head in Shinjuku. And ordered the soy chicken burger and cheese fries with ice tea. All amazing. One of the best burgers. Spoke English as well and the serving size was really good for the cost. Very clean and cozy and quiet. Will come again.

Pros: yum!

vegan fast food - Edit

I went here on my first night in Tokyo. If you follow Google maps, it's easy to find. The staff was super friendly and spoke some English. The place was full when I arrived, but didn't have to wait long for a seat. I ordered the classic ripple burger. The burger itself was okay, it's not the best burger I've eaten but also not the worst. That's just my personal taste. I think I probably would have been happier with one of the other options like the burrito.

Great burgers! - Edit

Went back a couple of times whilst in Shinjuku! Loved the crispy chicken burger & the ice-cream was divine! Wish we had a Ripple in Australia!

Pros: 100% vegan, Doesn't close between lunch and dinner, Staff understood English

Cons: Can be full so you have to wait for a seat

Really great chicken burger! - Edit

We ate here twice and really enjoyed it both times. Fast food sorta stuff, which is exactly what we were after. Had the veggie cheeseburger first time, and crunchy chicken burger the second- the latter being the winner of the best burger competition. Could maybe use a little more salad vegetables in their salad, since I like to balance out the fast food element with a little more healthiness, but each to their own of course.
Playing the Smiths both times...maybe some Crass would be good to lift the spirits after that ;-)

Pros: Great vegan fast food

Try The French Toast! - Edit

There are a lot of vegan places in Tokyo, but the ones I’ve found so far are quite expensive and have small portions. This place is different. Their food is excellent, good portion sizes, and very friendly staff. And the French toast is absolutely amazing!

Tasty 'chicken' burger - Edit

We came here for a bit of familiar food while on holiday to Tokyo. This place had a great atmosphere and friendly staff that spoke fluent English. I ordered the vegan cheese burger with fries - personally I didn't like the burger very much but I can't put my finger on why. Luckily for me my husband swapped his 'chicken' burger for mine and it was delicious! I enjoyed reading through the guestbook to see where all the other vegans had visited from and made sure to leave my own little message. Great place, would definitely come back again.
