Delicious food, friendly atmosphere - Edit

Ripple is a relaxed and friendly fast food establishment with a number of different options, all vegan. Upon arrival grab a seat and a menu and when you are ready order and pay at the counter, the food tends to arrive reasonably quickly.

Having tried several items on the menu I would definitely recommend the chicken burger, burrito and muffins (cheeseburger and cheese fries were less of a hit with us, but this could just be personal taste).

You can also order salad boxes, chilli cheese fries, nachos, mac 'n cheese, soup and a variety of desserts (some of these items are not on the regular menu although seemed to be available every time I have visited!).

The drinks are quite pricey but the food itself is good value for the quality! Not the best vegan burger I have ever had BUT definitely a place I will go to again and again!

Pros: Nice vibe, Good food, Good faux meat/ dairy

Cons: Slightly expensive drinks

So gooooood - Edit

This place is SO GOOD!!
I love the shop itself, the inside is soo cosy, especially on a freezing cold day.

I am in love with the burrito, the flavour is incredible. And at first I actually thought it had dairy in it, but its some crazy amazing vegan sour cream and cheese combo that makes the burrito taste like ones I would buy back home before going vegan. Also the roasted vegetable salad has the trade mark ain soph. dressing on it, which if you have tasted it before, know its sooo good.
Their desserts are delicious too, I love the vanilla ice cream and dark chocolate muffin.
I've already been here numerous times on my trip because it keeps pulling me back in, I cant resist.

Great place to take in your laptop or books and do some work. They have chargers at the tables for you to charge your phone or laptop.

Pros: Great food, lovely atmosphere, lots of options

Cons: not much, to be honest.

Not the best burgers at all! - Edit

I was there today with some friends and I was quite exited about the place as it gave good reviews.
Unfortunately for us we had the burgers with the chips and the taste of the burger and the vegan cheese was not good at all.
Staff was friendly.

Pros: Friendly staff

Cons: Bland burgers, Not tasty at all

Great vegan junk food in Shinjuku - Edit

Was super excited to eat some vegan junk food! It took a little bit of time to find the place since it seemed like it was on a side street, but it was relatively easy to find. I had the vegan cheeseburger with fries; it was delicious! Didn't taste too processed. Seating can be limited since it's a small location but it wasn't too busy when I went. Staff was really nice as well. Would definitely go again when I crave burgers.

Great start to vegan dining Tokyo! - Edit

This was the first stop after dropping bags at our hotel nearby. We ordered a Crispy Chicken Burger, a Cheese Burger and chips to share. The waitress was very helpful and accommodating considering our lack of local language skills. The place, situated down a quiet side street, was warm and cozy, the perfect place for a cold, wet night out. The wait was short, and soon we were devouring our meal.

Awesome chips, great tasting burgers - perfect! There was nothing to fault at all and we promised to go back, only we ran short of time, unfortunately. Highly recommend you check this out!

Pros: excellent food, friendly staff, cozy atmosphere

Very kind staff and great burgers - Edit

My family are strictly vegetarian and had come to visit me in Tokyo. I had not checked the closing time of the restaurant properly and we arrived to the restaurant late. Nevertheless, the restaurant's staff invited us in, fired up the kitchen and stuffed our bellies with delicious vegan burgers that are rightfully praised in many other reviews. I had the vegan Sloppy Joe - the chick peas add a nice bite to the Sloppy Joe.

The two staff on duty that evening went truly above and beyond the call of duty, and thanks to them, my family didn't freeze and starve that night! And the food was delicious. I'm not a strict vegetarian but I will certainly visit again for the food. Thanks Ain Soph.Ripple, keep up the good work!

Pros: Delicious food, Great Service, Great location for those visiting Shinjuku

Good Burger - Edit

The first time I went there, I had the Ripple Cheese Burger. The patty was tasty and had a great texture, it wasn't mushy and it held together. The sauce was good as well. The bun was too chewy for my taste. The cheese tasted a little cheesy.

On my second visit, I ordered the Crispy Chicken Burger and the Cheese Fries. The "chicken" itself was quite strange in texture but had a nice crispy coating. The tartar sauce in it was delicious. As for the Cheese Fries, they were crispy but again, not very cheesy in taste.

The staff were very friendly. Overall, my experience here was pleasant and I would recommend it to any vegan or vegetarian as a place to eat.

Pros: Takeout OK!, Tasty burger., Friendly staff.

Cons: Chewy bun.

The best vegan fast food place in Tokyo - Edit

For food, this is 5 stars. I'm pretty sure this is the best burger I've had in Tokyo [Edit as of Feb 2017: Mr Farmer's burgers are on the same level.] Definitely better than Hanada Rosso and Island Veggie Burger. I haven't had the one from Veganic in Roppo yet. But in any case, this was a very good burger, even my omni friends want to go again. It's pretty substantial, comes with generous toppings and the cheeseburger version comes with a really cheesy sauce. The patty is on the soft side (as they usually are if they don't use seitan) but all the tastier for it. My lunch buddies also loved the burrito salad bowl. I had the mixed salad and that was very good too although I could do without the bland soy nuggets. The muffin was top notch. Atmosphere is nice and the price is most definitely right.

The only thing that bothered me were the very uncomfortable stools to sit on (no backrest, and too small) and the absence of separate tables (there is only one long communal table, plus one long counter along the window).

The lack of comfort is really a downer. With better chairs and separate tables this would be one of my absolute favorites in Tokyo. Hope they will open another restaurant with the same menu but better furniture elsewhere. Shibuya please, or Futakotamagawa!

EDIT APRIL 2016: came back and this time they had a sort of thousand island / "Aurora" sauce on the burger I didn't care for. Next time I'll ask them to skip that. WTF!

Updated from previous review on 2016-04-02

Pros: Top notch food, nice menu, Nice atmosphere, Very reasonably priced

Cons: Uncomfortable chairs, No separate tables

Great Vegan Fast Food! - Edit

This is a great little place for vegan burgers and deserts. I loved the vegan cheeseburger and ice cream. The restaurant is in a great location, close to all the bars and nighttime craziness of Tokyo.
The staff were great too. I would defiantly return here!

Pros: Great food, Great location, Nice staff

lovely staff, great burgers! - Edit

This place is honestly so great. The staff were lovely and the food was fast and so yummy. I got the cheeseburger with fries and it had the best vegan cheese I have ever had. I also got one of the banana dark chocolate muffins which was so good as well. Basically in love with this place. Easy to find too.

Pros: Food taste and quality, Decent portion sizes, Lovely staff
