My favorite vegan restaurant in Tokyo - Edit
A cozy vegan restaurant. The place has 2 floors, the menu has many options including good desserts. We ordered the pasta, karaage, burrito and creme brulee and everything was delicious, especially the pasta!

Rude staff that ignore you - Edit
I went into this restaurant as the door was open. The staff ignored as and then when we sat down they rudely told us the restaurant was closed unless we had a booking. The restaurant was empty. We went th next day to get the vegan gluten free snow balls they had for sale as there were limited options for vegan gluten free. Again the staff ignored us. The payment counter was right at the kitchen so they definitely saw us. Two different staff ignored us and after some time finally decided to serve us. The snowballs were okay.

Good but pricey - Edit
Very convenient location right next the exit C5 of Shinjuku-shanchome station. Ordered the lunch salad and strawberry pancakes. Lunch salad is a very good portion but the taste is just ok. Pancakes were great.

The dishes were okay, super pricey and not special. It wasn’t that good food.

Diverse in giro per il Giappone, tutti gentilissimi, ma i locali sono tutti piccoli e quindi è difficile trovare posto.

Lovely! - Edit
After touring the Shinjuku Gyoen National Gardens we found this sweet spot. We waited about 10 minutes for a table. It seems to be a popular spot for locals. It was a real joy to find two plant based restaurants on the same street. Our dishes were delicious. I had the crème brûlée for dessert. Sublime! There was English on the menu along with photos.

Yum! - Edit
A cozy breakfast and lunch spot! We came solely for the pancakes but they were already sold out at 11:30am! 😭 But the curry and karaage were delicious and helped soothe my sadness.

Perfect lunch spot! - Edit
If you’re looking for an incredible lunch spot - this is the place. Amazing salads n dressings, and more substantial meals too. They have mega desserts as well. Please note that there isn’t any Japanese meals here however (hence the 4 rather than 5 stars).

Amazing Pancakes - Edit
We had a few things on the menu and by far the pancakes were the star. I didn’t love the savory dishes as I felt like they could use a bit more flavor but the sweets more than made up for it. Their drinks were also good 😊

My favourite vegan spot - Edit
When I was a uni student, I used to go there almost every week. I just love the aesthetics and atmosphere of the store. The staff members are sweet and helpful too. I asked them a few times for surprise birthday plate and they did such a cute plate with mini cakes. They adjust some menu for gluten free too. Everything is tasty, but I have to put an extra emphasis on their signature pudding. Anytime I want to bring some gift to a table on the way to friends' or family's, I buy and take out some of the puddings. The creaminess is uniquely perfect. If anyone asks me for vegan recommendation in my hometown, this restaurant has to be the one.

Such a reliable chain of restaurants. This visit we had the taco rice, a burrito, a crème brûlée and the strawberry pancakes. We left stuffed full and very happy.

Heavenly desserts - Edit
I opted for two desserts, because they looked so good. And they were. The Dessert Plate had a scoop of ice cream, a waffle, whipped cream underneath fruit in a glass, and gluten free chocolate cake. These were full of flavour and mouthwatering. Then came the special strawberry pancakes. I don't have words to describe how delicious this was.

Friendly and hip - Edit
Went there for lunch, the heavenly pancake set was very good.
Read moreThe soup that day was corn and onion, not their tomato speciality like the menu advertised. We were disappointed when it was served, but the first sip changed our mind!
The salad parfait was intriguing: you eat the top part first while dipping the cooked root veggies in fresh japanese miso, really yummy. Then you empty the remaining content in a plate and add the dressing.
The pancake plate was brought while we were still working on the salad, which is fine as we’ve noticed that we eat a lot slower than locals. The pancakes were very tasty. The soy ice cream had all but melted, made for a good dipping sauce!
The set includes a drink, we picked herbal tea. They don’t let you choose one, they bring you a cup already prepared. It smelled like linden-mint, I think ^_^
As the lunch hour went by, the place became very loud with people talking.
Pros: all-vegan menu, fresh ingredients
Cons: loud place

Perfect Location for a Shinjuku Outing - Edit
After really adoring the Ikebukuro location, I decided to try the Shinjuku location. It's only a few minutes walking from Marui & Marui Annex and is right next to the Shinjuku-sanchome station entrance, which is quite ideal if you are lucky enough to get caught in a wet snowstorm like I was today. The food was great, but honestly I would absolutely return here for the convenient location alone.

Tasty food - Edit
Really good food, some dishes tasted exactly like the Kyoto branch. The only thing they could improve on is the state of the downstairs seating, the ceiling definitely needs painting, looks very dirty.

Came first thing after landing. Delicious salad plate. The food and atmosphere was so good that we came back towards the end of our stay in Tokyo. Had delicious vegan pesto salad set and karage. Kyoto branch was even better.

Pricey vegan fine dining restaurant. The menu is diverse and fancy, they make it pretty decent too. Liked the karage and pasta, and also a special celebration platter at the end.

The Karaage is Amazing - Edit
The karaage is really juicy and quite delicious. I had that and the kinoko hayashi rice for lunch, as well as a black sesame latte, which I also enjoyed. I'm still not acclimated to Japanese portion sizes but this amount of food gave me the perfect level of fullness. I unfortunately wasn't the biggest fan of the hayashi rice, although it wasn't bad, it just wasn't anything to write home about. The service staff was very kind and indulged me with my beginner/intermediate Japanese the whole time even though they spoke perfect English, which I appreciated.

Overpriced and overrated - Edit
We were looking forward to eating in this place after seeing generally good reviews, but we were really disappointed in the food we ordered which was very bland and had an unpleasant taste to it. My boyfriend couldnt finish his meal which is very rare, if you end up going here dont order what we got. The walls was covered in black fungus which was kind of disgusting. And on top of this the prices were really high compared to anything else we have eaten in Tokyo. Smoothie was good though, but i wouldnt recommend this place, as there are better alternatives nearby.

They don't do the iconic pancakes at this location. Lavk of decor was noticeable. They have great black sesame pancakes were great. Everything else was painfully average.

Nice enough but overrated - Edit
They weren't serving the classic pancakes and it seemed like they haven't for a while which was disappointing as it was why I booked. My husband got a faux beef wrap and I got the same in a salad. Both were tasty enough but served cold and the wrap was cling wrapped - felt like something to grab from a bakery rather than a dinner. We split 2 desserts which looked good but weren't very sweet. I wouldn't visit again as I've had much better tasting and value vegan food in Japan, including at non vegan restaurants.

Funky loft style cafe - Edit
Mushrooms were our highlight but beware they are very hot and in oil! Our server did warn us about this which was lucky. Taco salad was very healthy and light. Cutlet that we added on was nice but small. Quiche was a bit funny texturally for me but the ham flavour was there. Food was nice but a little over priced compared to the other wonderful things we have found around Tokyo.
