Very delicious and flavorful! Would absolutely go again and bring someone! Gluten free options are a bit limited, would be great if they add GF burger buns.

Vegan bagels and sandwiches! - Edit
Nice Western style restaurant near Chinatown. Went here because I was craving bread and there were so many options. Comfortable for solo-eaters as they have a community table ánd spots at the bar.
Read moreI had the bacon egg and cheese sandwich and it was really delicious. The cheese was particularly good, the the egg was eggy, the bacon didn’t taste much like bacon but it was delicious and fit together with the other ingredients well. Prices are a bit steep. Service okay, order via QR, pay right away.

What an all-rounder☕️🥗🍔 - Edit
We ended up eating here twice for dinner and twice for breakfast because we were so impressed by the very first meal.
Read moreFor dinner, we tried the Loaded Nachos, Detoxicated Pasta, the m*spicy Burger and the mamamia! Bagel, and for breakfast we had the What the Guac!, the egg-bacon and cheese bagel, and the plain jane.
Everything was absolutely delicious. I honestly could have come back a third and even a fourth time in a row without getting tired of it.
The only dish that didn’t quite win me over was the What the Guac avocado sourdough. I’m usually a big fan of avocado toast, but this one just wasn’t quite to my taste.
Nevertheless, I’m still giving this place five stars, as everything else was spot on. The staff were very friendly, and the atmosphere was really cozy.

Disappointed - Edit
We were looking forward to eating here. The food was fine, with a nice selection of dishes. Unfortunately, the service was poor.
Read moreThe first time we ate there, they forgot to make our coffee. We didn't get coffee until we had finished our breakfast. This second time, they forgot my wife's Kale Bowl. When she went up to the counter, she saw her food had been sitting there for a while but the server had failed to deliver it. I finished my meal before she even started on hers.
The restuarant was not particularly busy on either day, and the food quality did not make up for the poor dining experiences. The server was friendly enough, but just not focused on the customer. If you don't mind risking poor service, then you should certainly give this place a try. But there are too many other places to try out during our two weeks in Singapore to give this one a third chance.

Vegan and Ayurvedic, Yoga Classes - Edit
Relocated from Kent Ridge and rebranded as Ahimsa Sanctuary. This new outlet is much larger, with a 2000 sq ft space (5x previous space), offering yoga classes and wellness workshops. This is in addition to well-loved vegan and Ayurvedic (traditional Indian medicine)-inspired food, including smoothies, sandwiches, grain bowls, salads, and more. Would highly recommend dishes such as Birria-Style Jackfruit Tacos, Eggplant Dipper, Tomato Dipper, Lion's Mane Mushroom Pops, Fishy Bites, Loaded Tortilla Chips, etc! Drinks are also infused with superfoods like beetroot, moringa, and ashwagandha, made with Oatside oat milk. Everything is wholesome and delicious, easily among the best vegan food I've eaten! Many allium-free options and customisation available.
Read moreThe yoga classes are also focused on philosophy and breathwork, plus there is a reading nook too. So happy that the sweetest and kindest owner Ash has finally managed to create what she originally envisioned pre-COVID! All the team members share the same values too - "Ahimsa" means respect and non-violence to all living beings, including self and others. Truly a sanctuary offering a respite from the hustle and bustle of city life, with a calming atmosphere and beautiful decor done up from scratch by the girls. LGBTQ friendly too, with a special soft opening during Pride Month alongside queer/ally-owned brands! Also supportive of various causes, such as having collab pop-ups and a monthly special smoothie with sales contributing to charity. A stone’s throw away from Maxwell MRT; also walking distance from Chinatown MRT.

Hidden treasure - Edit
The name "sanctuary" hints at something mystique and hidden away. And that's exactly what Sanctuary is! Although easy to find, the building has no signs and the entrance is not clearly marked. One enters through a garden (with seating) to the actual restaurant. The restaurant is dimly lit and because of the dark walls there's a vibe of exclusivity. Exactly as a sanctuary should be.
Read moreOrdering can only be done using a QR-code. For those without a foreign data bundle, the restaurant has a wifi network. The menu has a lot of variations and I felt like having simple avocado, tomato toast. Because I was alone, I was asked to sit at the counter as to keep tables free for couples and groups. The fun thing about sitting at the counter is that one can watch the chefs at work and/or talk with them. I saw that everything is made from scratch and there's a sizeable team doing so during peak hours.
Even though toast is a simple order, it was executed very well. The bread was as crispy as it should be, the avocado was tasty, the tomato was of good quality and the vegan mayo was perfect. All in all, a good reason to visit again and try some more items on the menu.
Pros: high quality food, calm vibe
Cons: order by QR code

Tasty but small portions - Edit
This place is indeed a little oasis in Chinatown and we had good, fresh food - an acai bowl, and one of their deluxe bagels - but the portions were very small considering the price. The staff was very friendly though.

Delicious spicy burger - Edit
The Spicy Burger was a 10/10! So delicious and actually spicy. The place itself is a real oasis, we came here on the first day of our trip because we were a bit early for our hotel check-in and it was just next door. It turned out to be the perfect spot to settle in and relax. A lot of people also come here for yoga, which adds to the peaceful vibe

Awesome Mexican food - Edit
I've had my fair share of Mexican food to know these are some legit burritos they have here. Tex mex was flavourful, reminded me of southern spice as tumeric and coriander hit me by surprise. Portion is reasonable for the price. Mornings matcha latte was refreshing and wasn't sweet. The place is tidy and clean!

Loved the burritos! - Edit
I dined at Ahimsa Sanctuary twice while visiting Singapore and tried the mushroom pasta and tex mex burrito, as well as a the cold pressed juices. Really enjoyed them all! It had a good atmosphere too and I personally experienced good service - we didn’t have WiFi/data on our phones so couldn’t order via the QR code, and even though they didn’t have a physical menu, they were able to pull it up on a phone for me.
