Worth the trek - Edit
The restaurant is up the escalator of an emporium that includes a supermarket, bars, shops and other restaurants on the main floor. Extensive menu with healthy and delicious food options. On this first visit, I had a portion of the hummus and falafel starter, served with many slices of pita. It is a starter that is enough for 2 people to share. As my main course, a Buddha bowl of mixed greens, pickled beets and pickled red onions, avocado, beet hummus, and seeds. The bowl was EXCELLENT, with lots of flavors. Three visits later, the variety of food options is great. The real cacao gelato is a must-have!

Very good vegetarian and vegan burgers - Edit
I had the lentils burger and it was super good, fresh and tasty seasoning. Service is fast and friendly. The place itself is modern setting in a commercial building, so might feel different than other touristic restaurants in town, but it is definitely worth passing by for the food. Menu is varied also and offers multiple vegetarian and vegan options. The juice and smoothies are also quite good and you can take them away.

I really loved this place. The plate I got felt like “girl dinner” with a little taste of everything! I liked the meatball better than the falafel, but both are delicious. The white bean spread toast was my fave. I also got the agua del dia: piña maracuya. Highly recommend!

A little hard to find, but worth it! - Edit
Aguacate is located on the 2nd story of an interior mall, tucked in the corner. We arrived about a half hour before closing, but the staff was very friendly. We sat out on the veranda, which was really nice. We ordered the falafel with white bean hummus and avocado toast with white & green beans. Both were absolutely delicious. Two of the best dishes we’ve eaten in Oaxaca. Highly recommended.

One of Oaxaca’s Best! - Edit
The chickpea poke bowl is so fresh with perfectly paired flavors. The falafel with white bean purée is perfection. The beetroot hummus is CRAZY! The soups of the day are outstanding! I go here at least twice a week! The owner is cool!
