A real gem!

Upon request, La Barena serves the best vegan Antipasti plates I have ever encountered! The staff is incredibly friendly and willing to accommodate extra requests and wishes. As main dish, they can prepare vegan pasta with home-grown vegetables of the season (such as artichokes, portulak or asparagus) and the finest italian olive oil! You would not want to miss that! Also, the restaurant's location is very special, surrounded by the water of the lagoon, far off any other houses and lots of birds chirping. The restaurant can also be reached by bike.

Pros: Beautiful location, Delicious food, Such friendly hosts

Cons: A bit far off the main road

Best antipasti variations

La Barena turned out to be an unexpected paradise for our vegan hearts: Even though they have no vegan dishes on the menu, they make us absolutely delicious vegan dinner every time we visit (which is usually in June). The antipasti variations are amazing and the main dishes (usually pasta with something from their agriculture e.g. in June artichokes, portulaca, or asparagus) taste delicious as well. Moreover, they are all extraordinarily kind people.

Pros: best antipasti variations, the kindest people, great location

Cons: vegan options not on menu
