Veg-Haven - Edit
Nice vegetarian restaurant close to Cathedral Square (Dom tér). The restaurant's main part is subterraneous, but there's also a comfortable and quiet outside area away from the street. The food is mainly Indian cuisine and lacto-vegetarian (no eggs). Milk products are used mainly for cheese and Yogonaise-Sauce, but also for lassis (yogurt drink) and shakes. The latter can also be ordered with rice or soy milk instead. Indian cuisine often uses ghee (clarified butter), but this restaurant uses oil for cooking and thus is very vegan-friendly. The food is rather salty but tastes quite good and the service is nice and friendly. Some servants even speak English and an English version of the menu is available upon request. The prices are appropriate and actually quiet cheap by Western standards. A satisfying meal costs only about 10 Euros or $14 per person. All in all it's a nice place with good food and probably the city's only veg-haven.
Pros: vegan-friendly, tasty, inexpensive
Cons: no vegan labels, limited raw food
Loved Agni - Edit
I agree with Auntcrow-this little restaurant is a find. I ate many of my meals at Agni while in Szeged. Raw foodists can choose from the salads and the fruit shakes/juices. At Agni, they can substitute milk for soy milk, or if you don't drink soy, you can also request to have your fruit mixed with water. The pumpkin soup is good. My colleagues enjoyed everything on the menu. The restaurant opens at 11AM, and closes late (I believe around 11PM). If the English speaking waiter is not there, make sure to get the English menu!
Pros: delicious food, vegan and raw foodist friendly, a la carte or daily menu

saved my life - Edit
this sweet little basement restaurant saved my life when i first moved to Szeged. i am from portland, oregon, and when i moved to szeged for school i expected to lose at least 5 kilos avoiding mystery meat and fried cheese until i could rent a flat . . . and i did, but Agni was an oasis of comfort and delicious food in this very dear little city. I still eat there a few times a week. The staff is lovely; they automatically bring me a menu in english and remember that i don't want dairy in my food (they don't use eggs anyway). Love it!
Pros: lovely staff, large delicious menu, huge buffet on saturdays
