Entirely Gluten-Free shop with vegan options

Celiacs can safely come to this mini shop of Agata & Valentina as it is 100% safe from gluten contamination, I confirmed with the staff. There are a wide variety of products including vegan products but as this mini shop’s primary focus is being gluten-free there are also many products that aren’t vegan. Some of the vegan products are: cheeses, milks, pastries (both prepackaged & fresh), pastas, cereals, breadcrumbs and much more. I have also provided some examples in my pictures. Given the small size of the shop I would recommend calling in advanced if you are interested in a particular item as they can run out quickly especially if it’s in the bakery section. They also offer weekly sales which is a plus as most items can be quite expensive.

Pros: 100% gluten-free with many vegan options, Staff familiar & kind about dietary restrictions, Large variety for such a small shop

Cons: Could definitely have more vegan options, Most products are pricy

Gourmet annex with gluten-free and vegan foods

Agata & Valentina (A&V) is a huge gourmet food store whose main branch is located on the SW corner of 79th and 1st. On the NW corner of that same intersection is a small annex that prominently announces and features gluten-free and vegan foods.

Not all the food here is vegan (and not all is gluten-free), but they do have good selection for a store of this size. Unlike a typical health-food store, this place does not sell non-food items (such as vitamins or health-care products), nor does it have bins of things like nuts or grains. However, it does offer a decent selection of plant milks and cheezes, as well as a bunch of vegan pastries and packaged vegan refrigerated items on the order of what you might find in a small health-food store, for about the same prices for this area. If you combine shopping here with a visit to the main part of A&V across the street (where they have huge assortment of produce and organic produce, along with other vegan items such as breads and hummus), you'll have a bunch of nice things to choose from.

On the other hand, if you are looking for a really huge selection, you'll have better luck at the Matter of Health store a few blocks to the south, or East-Side Health Foods or Whole Foods a few blocks to the north.
