Delicious Sunday lunch in a stylish, relaxed venue.
Read moreHad the wellington which was excellent.
The vegan chocolate, cherry and almond pudding had lots of my favourite tastes but didn’t work for me. However nice to have more unusual options to choose.
I’m looking forward to returning sometime.

This is the in-crowd place to be in Alnwick apparently. Not for me. A very poor selection of mainstream beers (Madri etc). Yes there are vegan options. The now ubiquitous Beyond Meat Burger and a wild mushroom and leek Wellington as the Sunday roast. Both £16. Decent place for a fancy drink in one of the booths.

We were holidaying in the area and decided to splurge. Online, the menu was above the amount we normally spend, but we decided to treat ourselves.

We chose Thursday night as it was going to be quieter, which worked well for us. The staff were attentive, but not overly so. The food took longer than I'm used to, which is a good sign when I look back. My good lady had the mushroom and leek wellington, and it was obviously freshly cooked and worth the wait. The parsnip soup was the best I've ever had, and the black forest delice dessert (the choice of both of us - all meals mentioned were vegan, though there were many omnivore options).
We lingered over the food. Not because of the price, but because of the quality.
Pros: Vegan options that were well thought out.
