Best 🥙🧆 Falafel in San Francisco!

Super tasty, Endless vegan dishes and options clearly labeled, great atmosphere, great service.

The only thing you can ask more for is for the place to be vegan,

Since perfection is not attainable, this place is as good as it gets for Vegan Middle Eastern food in San Francisco.

Pros: Falafel, Veggi Combo Plate, Lentil Soup

Delicious Clearly labeled vegan items

Amazing Mediterranean place on haight street. Best in the city. The lentil soup is flavorful and delicious. Falafel fries are amazing! The rice was so yummy too! Tasty pita and the veggie combo is also amazing. The staff is super kind and helpful. #Veganuary

A Nice Find in the Haight

We dined at Abu Salim on December 14, 2024. We weren't overly hungry so decided that we would share the vegetarian combo platter. It was delicious and ample enough for the two of us. You also get a complimentary plate of pickles and olives.

The food was a little bit salty however and the use of olive oil a little excessive. But I'll be back. It's nice to find a restaurant that has some easily identifiable vegan options in this busy part of San Francisco.

Pros: Friendly service, Large servings

Cons: Too liberal a use of salt and olive oil

Excellent Middle Eastern Cuisine with heaps of vegan options

I recently went to Abu Salim Middle Eastern Grill with my beloved. We are both vegan. We were delighted to find out that there are heaps of vegan options on the menu.

I have spent six weeks backpacking in the extraordinary Middle East including Jordan, Egypt, Israel, and Turkey. In all my travels Indian cuisine is my favorite in India with the Middle East being a close second for amazing veg cuisine.

The owners here are from Palestine and dish up some amazing cuisine.

We went with a vegetarian combo platter with hummus baba ghannoush arabic salad fried eggplant and cauliflower two falafel and dolma. Served with pita.

We also got ful aka fava beans topped with garlic lemon pepper olive oil and also served with pita.

Both of the mains were scrumptious. Besides the mains we also had some relish dip that was vegan olives and believe pickled radishes.

A

The only hiccup was the music was a bit loud at one point. I asked our server to turn it down a touch and she did which we appreciated so we could enjoy the meal and dinner conversation.

The restaurant had many folks there with good reason.

Recommended and we will be back.
