Absolutely worth the hurdles to get a table - Edit
Abeno is a small but beautiful restaurant that instantly transports you back to Japan. We’ve been craving a proper okonomiyaki experience for years, and this more than delivered. The vegan option is cooked right in front of you, which makes the whole experience feel special, and it’s absolutely delicious.

Super vegan okonomiyaki set menu - Edit
Loved this nostalgic authentic Japanese vegan okonomiyaki experience where they cook the savory pancake at your table in front of you. The only vegan option is a set menu which includes a lovely vegan miso soup with tofu, seaweed and sesame seeds and three sides. One was kimchi, another pickled cucumber, and a third was a root vegetable gobo maybe and carrot with sesame. All delicious! It was £27 so quite pricey but great for a treat. I’d love to go back to being my partner.

Lovely traditional Japanese food - Edit
I've not had okonomiyaki since I went to Japan years ago when I was vegetarian. I was so excited when I found this place that does vegan okonomiyaki! And it did not disappoint! They have a vegan set with some sides, the okonomiyaki and miso soup; all great. All staff were really friendly and helpful. They even had vegan dessert. Fab it's all cooked in front of you like in Japan, lovely experience. I would recommend and return.
