This used to be my go-to cafe. At one point almost totally vegan apart from milk for coffee. The owner would charge people more for cows milk much like other cafes charge more for plant milk. Then that made the Daily Fail to typical Fail reader criticisms and they stopped doing that which showed a lack of conviction.
Read moreThen the vegan only food options stopped and some vegetarian dishes reappeared. Now I find that meat has crept back on the menu. I’m very disappointed. I appreciate times are tough but this place can’t decide what it is.
Only one vegan lunch option now and it’s not even one of the toasties they did so well.
A Loungers will be opening over the road and Abbey Road runs the risk of losing customers hand over fist. Not sure now is the time to be alienating your loyal customers. I’m really put off and it will be a while before I’ll want to go back.
At least most of the cake is still vegan. For now.

We had a good lunch from their varied toasted sandwich menu and a delicious cake afterwards. As far as I can see the cafe is completely vegan, except for possible cows milk for which they charge extra. Thoroughly recommended for a light lunch or a good coffee and cake.

The team at abbey road are making and sourcing really great veggie/mostly vegan food, their sandwiches have had actual time and love put into them and their cakes would fool absolutely anyone - great vibes and beautiful spot by the Malvern priory - definitely come here, definitely!
