Modern hostelry in historic Ghent - Edit

Brightly decorated rooms with a bohemian vibe, Weleda products in the bathrooms, a generous all-organic vegan breakfast buffet, ecologically made mattresses and linens, convenient recycling containers, shelves full of books to borrow — what more could a conscientious traveler desire? All of this is provided by two ebulliently hospitable hostesses (who speak English, as does practically everyone in Flanders and the Netherlands) within a beautiful 19th-century building on the oldest street of a city that made international news in 2009, when officials declared that henceforth, every Thursday would be "Veggiedag" (or Veggie Day).

Pros: Everything for the enlightened tourist

Great vegan B&B - Edit

My partner and I spent a night here and were very pleasantly surprised. The hosts are a lovely, welcoming couple and our room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was great with a homemade pate and plenty of fresh bread and cereals with soya milk and yoghurt. We couldn't have wished for a better stay.

Pros: Lovely hosts, Great room, Awesome vegan breakfast

Cons: None!

simple grandeur - Edit

The location in Gent is perfect and the beautiful old building has a lot of character. The simple, basic interieur is a nice contrast with the grandeur of the building. We stayed in a very spacious room, nicely decorated. The hosts is very pleasant and helpfull and has a lot of information on were to eat and drink in Gent. The breakfast in the morning was totally organic and vegan including fresh smoothies and homemade vegetablepate; delicious! It all added to a very pleasent stay in Gent.

Pros: Beautifull old characteristic building, Clean and quiet, Friendly staff

A nice, warm place to stay for a visit to Gent - Edit

The staff member we met is a very welcoming, friendly and a helpfull man. The B&B itself was really good. The beds are comfortable, the soaps and shampoos are eco-friendly, on the hallway you'll find dvd's and books and the B&B is in city centre. There's not a whole lot of choice at breakfast menu, but it's all vegan and the bread is fresh (from Le Pain Quotidien). We also got a fresh made smoothie served every morning.

Pros: Very helpfull and friendly staff, City centre
