The New King - Edit
As Good Life Cafe has now alienated its vegan comminity by adding omnivore options, I have decided to crown this place my new favorite vegan restaurant. To be honest, it was hard always choosing between either this or Good Life, but I applaud those who own A Peace of Soul for staying true to their vegan roots and always serving marvelous burgers, fries, and mac-n-cheese. This place has wowed me multiple times and I hope to go back soon, as it’s been a bit now since I’ve eaten here.

Just divine! - Edit
It’s just that delicious. Hands down, the best chickn sandwiches I’ve ever had. The mac&cheez is out of this work. And not to mention the purple cabbage! Drooling! I typically order pick up and my order is always ready fast and hot. Always a treat when I’m in the Columbia area

Great food and service - Edit
The food at this restaurant was really good. I was also very impressed with the fried “chicken” sandwich’s texture. I ordered the fried “chicken” sandwich with 2 sides, Mac & “cheese” and collard greens. I also ordered a side of kidney beans. Everything tasted great but the collard greens were sweet which I did not like.
Read moreMy husband had the same fried “chicken” sandwich with 1 side, French fries and he ate all of it.
Also, I placed my order online and it was waiting and ready for pick up when I arrived.
Pros: Everything is vegan, Great texture “chicken” sandwich, Friendly staff and food was ready to go
Cons: Collard greens are sweetened

Worth the visit! - Edit
If the Peace of Soul food truck in your city, make the stop! We live in Charleston and have made the trip to Columbia a few times just because. If you follow them on Instagram and wonder if the food tastes as good as it looks, it does! Omni hubs loves the cabbage and chickn sandwiches. We both love the Mac and get it every time. If we don't order dinner platters, we order extra sides with our sandwiches. Make this a regular stop, y'all

Such a happy surprise! - Edit
Wow! This food was amazing. I had the soy nuggets with BBQ sauce, brown rice, Mac and cheese, and collards. Loved every bit of it! The serving size was huge so it lasted me two meals! The Mac and cheese was so creamy and yum, and really hit the spot. I also had the blueberry lemon pound cake for dessert. Yum, yum, yum!

My favorite - Edit
This restaurant is currently take-out only and you can order ahead online which is highly recommended. I’m a frequent customer and I’ve never been disappointed with the food here. It’s always fresh, tasty, and the customer service is ALWAYS great. My favorite is the fried “chicken” sandwich. Everything is awesome and I highly recommend this place to any and everyone! My non-vegan family members LOVE this place and that speaks volumes!

The best vegan Mac I’ve ever had - Edit
I’m visiting from Ohio, and I was bummed I couldn’t have any soul food being plant based. But, A Peace of Soul came to the rescue! The best vegan Mac I’ve ever had, and so filling. If I lived here I would frequent often!

Great Sandwich, wonderful sides, no dining area - Edit
Excellent food, friendly staff, very quick service. My only complaint was that the cheese on the cheeseburger was not very good in my opinion. But the excellent onion rings, macaroni and cheese, and collards more than made up for it.

So rice macaroni and cheese cabbage and the vegan meat protein are already made and it takes a half hour to scoop out 3 things and they don’t let you wait inside. Food is good but I can make better at my house

Best meatball sub ever! - Edit
I was blown away by the meatball sub- it was the most delicious meatball sub I’ve ever had, vegan or not. Perfectly spicy. We’ve also had the chick’n, fries, Mac n cheese, cabbage, collards, butter beans, and orange chick’n nugs. I wasn’t a huge fan of the Mac n cheese personally but everything else tasted great! The sides hold up well as leftovers but the chick’n not so much. My biggest complaint about A Peace of Soul is the hours. If you don’t order by about 4, all of the sides will be sold out and you’ll be stuck with some greasy chick’n and fries as your only options. Since some of it isn’t that great reheated, you’ll probably want to go mostly just for lunch. Not a deal breaker for us but definitely good to be aware of!

Wow oh Wow! - Edit
I'm roadteipoing from Connecticut to Florida. I made a pit stop to visit family in South Carolina. They're not vegan so I opened happy cow and found A Piece of Soul. Their IG looked drool worthy and boy was I not disappointed. I'm not the biggest fan of wheat-gluten but this Nashville Hot Crispy Fried “Chicken” sandwich is AMAZING!! I also order mac n “cheese”, collard greens, fried okra and the pineapple lemon ginger drink. I loved the collars greens, fried okra (first time having okra) and the refreshing drink. The mac had a little too much going on flavor-wise for me.

Name speaks for itself! - Edit
I have tried several vegan places here and everything I visit this restaurant I always leave happy and content!! I have had their chik'n sandwich with fries and with collards, Mac n cheese the second time. The Mac n cheese has a bit too much seasoning but all in all I clean me plate lol! I cannot recall their other dish I ate but it was similar to a Chinese dish with blackeye peas (which I hate)but I gave them a try and LOVED them!! Me grandad I know rolled over in his grave for I would NEVER ate them at home. I truly cannot think of anything negative to say about this business!

WOW - Edit
We ordered and our meal was ready in 5 minutes. Both Dad (Omni) and I (vegan) got the bacon burger and loved it. Patty is made from scratch and the bacon and sauce were super flavorful. It was perfect as is. I had Mac and cheese and curry potatoes and dad got the collard greens which were amazing. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu and specials on other days. Carry-out and mobile order only but the website is super easy to navigate.
