Flavorful tea alongside beautiful scenery - Edit
Jiufen was a top destination for me and I’m so glad that I went! I lucked out and was able to visit before the influx of other tourists and visitors stopped by so I had top pick for seating at this beautiful tea house. I opted for the tea set alongside an additional serving of dessert. The tea was so flavorful and delicious! I felt bad leaving the rest of the tea leaves but it was quite a lot of tea for one person to drink (and boy did I try!). I highly recommend stopping by (even more so if you’re able to stop by before noon). The place is a bit on the pricier side (the tea set was 350 TWD and the dessert was 100 TWD) but definitely worth it.

Great experience - Edit
The tea house is a well-known tourist attraction, but it's so beautiful that I recommend it anyway. Depending on when you go, there can be quite long waiting times. We were there in the early afternoon and got a seat straight away, but later it got really busy, partly because of the lighting, so you would have had to wait a long time. They no longer serve hot meals here, only tea and small sweet tea snacks. Cash only. We opted for the tea set, which includes various small snacks and tea to pour yourself. The whole process is demonstrated once and you can ask questions, then you pour your own tea. The snacks were all delicious and the view was beautiful.

Breath taking views and delicious pastries - Edit
A-Mei is a vegan tea house that inspired much of the scenery in Spirited Away.
Read moreWhile the movie does draw many people to visit, their oolong tea and tea assortments help hype up this place more. You get the option between iced oolong tea or hot oolong tea, the ladder requiring you to seep the tea leaves in a almost ritual fashion. I've had both and the iced tea is a lot more refreshing and less laborious.
The standout from the pastries is the mochi and dates (be careful with these as they are not pitted).
Try and get a table on the side so you can take in the breath taking views as well.

Overpriced but worth the experience - Edit
Of course it’s overpriced it’s a total tourist thing. So I wasn’t sure at first if I’m going to go there. The snacks were super small but I always find them quite filling. The staff was a bit unenthusiastic but overall I still would recommend this as an experience in Jiufen and I’m glad I did it. Probably would have regretted if I didnt try it out.

Good vibes and good experience - Edit
Stunning location with a beautiful view. We tried the tea and sweets set which was lovely. A staff member teaches you how to make traditional Taiwanese tea which is a fantastic culturally immersive experience. The sweets are all tasty as well.

Not worth it - Edit
Sadly the tea is incredibly overpriced and the staff was just looking really annoyed. Especially regarding the price there's a lot of better options for vegans that are worth supporting.

It was fine - Edit
The tea was tea and the cakes were nice. I particularly liked the sesame biscuits and the matcha cake.
Read moreThe terrace was cold (it was an unpleasant day when I was there) and the atmosphere wasn’t the nicest. It felt a little like a canteen to me with the plastic chairs.
Considering a lot of people say it’s good to do for “the experience” I was expecting more.

Good for the experience - Edit
I visited Jiufen during a very rainy and cold day so I came here to warm up. I got the tea set, you get a lot of oolong tea (approximately 3 sets with 5 brews each). The cakes were tasty. The staff was nice. Since it was a bad weather day, there weren't many people, but the covered terrace was cold.

must visit - Edit
only downside is the amount of people that want to go. try to go after 8pm as the crowd gets less dramatically.

Cute tea place - Edit
Traditional tea and tea foods are vegan(they said) boiling water pot next to the table. They show you how to brew the tea properly. Tea and snacks taste very nice. Worth experience.

Teahouse Experience - Edit
When visiting Jiufen I can highly recommend visiting this teahouse in particular. It's one of the nicest houses with an exceptional service. They also offer some vegan treats with their teaset. Additionally a vegan meal can be ordered.
