great veggie &vegan take out - Edit

Great expansion for Sky Apple. They serve a good selection of savoury and sweet veggie and vegan take out delights. The aroma on entry ensures you are feeling hungry and they seem to do a good trade. The vegan cheese is of a good quality and they have some unusual flavours. They also have some lovely vegan cakes, I love their miniature vegan Victoria sponge cake. I envy those who are able to frequent this fine take away regularly.

Pros: great selection , good value

Cons: can be difficult to find parking

Empire Building - Edit

When I found out Sky Apple was opening up a sister venue right next door purely for take-aways it was time to take action and visit. We've tried their fabulous selection of home-made vegan cheeses and vegan cup cakes. Yes they're all delicious. What do you expect? This place is popular at lunchtimes with local workers popping in for hot or cold sandwiches, paninis or savoury pastries. The vegan choice and quality is excellent. Going back to the cheeses, we tried the roasted red pepper, Brie style and classic flavour. Perfect with some crusty bread, a glass of red and a ramekin of olives. Funnily enough this is exactly how we ate them. A Little Piece of Sky gives some much needed relief to bigger sister Sky Apple next door which can now concentrate on it's main operation of lunchtime and evening dining. All the take-away business can now flow smoothly from this more specialised venue. A quite jaw dropping moment materialised at the end of June 2017 when they introduced a traditional British Friday night fry up. Battered vegan "fish" and chips, battered sausages, mushy peas, curry sauce. You name it. Absolutely delicious, well presented and very fairly priced at £6.50 for the fish and chips. I can see this place floating around for many years to come.

Pros: vegan choice , vegan cheeses, the Friday night fry up

A little piece of heaven - Edit

For those unaware of the Sky Apple Cafe, it now has its own deli next door that offers an excellent choice of sandwiches, salads, wraps and street food as well as vegan cakes, which is perfect if you want a quick lunch or if you have time, my advice is to take your lunch and eat it in Heaton Park which is opposite. A great new addition to the Newcastle vegi/vegan scene.

Pros: Great Choice, Cheap, Lovely helpful Staff
