Phenomenal vegan experience in Tokyo - Edit
What a phenomenal dinner and evening this was. We were very lucky and got a table on short notice due to someone’s cancellation. We splurged on the 12-course menu which included two additional special courses that night. It was not cheap, but worth every yen, as every course looked like a little piece of art and was as delicious as the last one. You sit in your own tatami room, the service was spectacular, they explained the ingredients in every dish and made us feel quite special. The ambiance is serene and unique. Absolutely recommended if you have and want to invest the budget. Probably our most sublime meal during this Japan trip.
Read moreReserve in advance, they only have a very limited number of rooms and thus tables available.
Lunch seems to be cash only, at dinner credit card was no problem.
Pros: Incredible food, Fantastic service, Unforgettable experience
Cons: A bit of a splurge, but totally worth it

Tokubetsu - Edit
At Fucha Bon, guests find peace amid the chaotic streets of Tokyo. In a koshitsu, you are basked in solitude, only interrupted by intermittent soft greetings that accompany consciously curated dishes. Adding to the experience, is meeting the restaurant’s chef at the meal’s conclusion, whose kind presence lingers throughout the remainder of your day.

Amazing - Edit
Can't recommend enough if you're looking for a special meal. Quite pricey but reflected in the food, the setting and service. Worth making a special trip for but you should book. Very good for children as long as they're fairly good with Japanese food.

Fabulous Dinner - Edit
We had a fabulous dinner here - the food, service and experience were all superlative. Each party has their own private room. Ours had a comfortable hori-gotatsu table, set over a recessed floor. The dishes were all distinctive, delectable, and well presented. A vegan gem. This place is also referred to as Fucha Ryori Bon, Fucha Bon or just Bon.

Amazing experience - Edit
I made reservations for Bon a couple weeks out. It’s slightly out of the way but we were not disappointed! Fantastic experience for one dinner like this on our Tokyo trip. Wonderful and sweet staff. Very cozy intimate atmosphere. Delicious food all presented very meticulously and beautifully. I love that you get to try a lot of things and the servers kindly explain to you each part of the dish.

The whole package: food, service, and experience - Edit
Fucha Bon has a unique and refreshing ambiance; quiet and serene. The food and presentation were top notch. Although I have no regrets about visiting this restaurant and would highly recommend it, it'd be a one and done experience for me.

Highlight of our trip - Edit
Eating here was an experience in itself. The food was delicious - the unagi was wild, felt like eating actual fishbones (in a good way). A beautiful, traditional environment and excellent service.

Best vegan experience in Tokyo - Edit
The standout dining experience of our time in Tokyo. From the calming Buddhist setting (private rooms with tatami mats), to the incredible variety of delicately prepared seasonal dishes and the friendly service, this was a meal we’ll remember for a long time. So many interesting flavours, textures and colours. For a vegan it’s a must-visit.

Amazing Sho-jin ryouri - Edit
It can be difficult to find good sho-jin ryouri food in Tokyo but oh my Bon will blow you away. Whilst on the pricy end its well exceeds your expectations. You are placed in your own room in a building that feels like another world. Whilst in this room that would well suit a Mafia boss or a politically important figure you will be greeted with lovely servers who speak pretty good English and will make sure to improve every bit of the experience. We got a set of 12 dishes which I can't explain but was exquisite. If you are vegan and in Tokyo, book a spot if you can, can't to be missed. Overall with a bottle of wine it cost me and my partner around 300 AUD or 23,000 YEN.

Best shoujin ryori thus far - Edit
I cannot fully express how great our experience is in this traditional restaurant. Each dish was so carefully prepared. The word “delicious” doesn’t seem to be enough to describe it, but evey bite felt good. The ambience was perfect. And the service was superb. We were so lucky to book a table on the dates that we prefer. Don’t forget to book in advance.

Superb tasting menu of Buddhist food - Edit
As this was one of Tokyo's highest-rated vegan restaurants, we secured a reservation to experience it for ourselves. We reserved a horigotatsu room, which I thought included a standard table with chairs, but instead turned out to be a traditional room with a cutout under the table for legs. BTW, this "leg-alcove" also had heated mats on the bottom! We opted for the 10-course tasting menu, which included a few seasonal specials in addition to the standard courses.
Read moreAll of the food was delicious and beautifully presented. I would definitely recommend dining here, but reservations are a must. We ate here early on our trip to Tokyo before we had acclimated to the Japanese accent, so it was somewhat difficult to understand the explanation of some of the courses. Regardless, we enjoyed the meal immensely!
Pros: Excellent tasting menu experience, Friendly and informative staff, Delicious food

Paradiesisch - Edit
Absolute Empfehlung.
Pros: Atmosphäre, Essensgestaltung, Geschmack

We absolutely loved the unusual, zen, charming, welcoming interior and atmosphere at BON. We had our own little room and the many different servers that came in to bring us things were all lovely.

We got the 8 course dinner and it was the perfect amount. All the dishes are small but delicious and d each is different from the last.
This was also really reasonably priced. Coming from NYC we were expecting the bill to be muuuuuch higher.
Pros: Memorable experience , Delicious vegan/vegetarian food, Absolutely beautiful presentation

Every dish is arranged extremely beautiful and delicious!
A friendly elderly lady dressed in Kimono explained every dish politely.
The old building has a very unique Charme. Felt a bit like I’m in Kyoto.
I even got some keychains as presents.

Unique and special - Edit
Bon was truly a unique and special experience - it would be a fabulous place to go for a special occasion. The care that went into each dish was very obvious. The presentation was beautiful and the staff that brought each course were so kind and offered explanations on everything. The owner and chef even came at the end of our meal to check in on us and he even offered to take a photo of us (as did another staff member when we were leaving - so kind!!!)

Not worth the cost imo. Also, my review got removed? - Edit
I went here my last week after living in Tokyo for several years. It was overall a fine experience, but honestly I was hungry at the end of the meal and it was a lot of money for dishes that were good, but not for that price point. Not sure why my initial review was removed…

Delicious Japanese/Chinese fusion - Edit
The shojin ryori course menu was amazing, every dish was beautifully arranged and it tasted delicious. I was definitely full at the end of lunch! The restaurant’s atmosphere was also special, it looks like and old Japanese house with tatami floors and feeble lightning.

Multiple courses, japan style - Edit
Stunning traditional restaurant hidden away in Tokyo, quite far away from the general hustle and bustle!
Read moreFor ¥6000 each we got seated in a private room with a pamphlet containing short explanations of the following 12 (!) courses. The staff was lovely and tried their best to explain every course further. Beautiful presentation!
It is buddhist vegetarian so no garlic or onions!
My only critique would be that after a couple of dishes, they all started tasting similar.
