Very good food. The staff person was happy to chat for a while and help me with my selection. I made a "build your own", and she let me combine two different mains, separating them down the middle. Everything I had was tasty and filling; the tajine had a substantial quantity of real vegetable. The bowl was a very generous portion.
Read moreThe location has a/c (nice during a really hot summer), and a really lovely outdoor sitting area out back.
The only real "downside" is that it's a chain, so you're not getting something you can't anywhere else. But that only matters if you're going to other cities that have a branch!
Pros: several good dishes, real vegetables, good portion for the cost

I had the Pasta Bolo-great meat sauce- very rich 5 stars. My wife had the Vegetable Tajine - 4 stars. And we both had the avocado salad -5 stars. The atmosphere was very unique and hip. The prices were very reasonable. We are only in town for 2 nights. I might be tempted to go back tomorrow.

What a wonderful establishment this is! The food is amazing! Exceedingly well-flavoured (but not too much!), highly delicious, nutritious and affordable! A combination that is virtually impossible to find in any city!
Read moreWe travelled from Brugge to sample the treats on offer at Le Bonaniste and were so pleased we had. A delightful young lady (i am nearly 80, so apologies if ‘young’ is considered offensive) served us. She was exceedingly helpful and her English was impeccable.
Despite feeling replete, we had desserts but forgot to take a photograph. Raspberry for me and chocolate for my husband.
Sublime!
The lemonade is delicious and refreshing and the coffee “top notch”!

Had lunch here. Half Buddah bowls and soup of the day which was carrot and ginger. Soup deliscious, bowls healthy but bit plain...we like things spicy.

Lovely food atmosphere and staff. Very helpful and accommodating. Lots to choose from. We chose the coconut curry bowl and the pasta bolognese bowl followed by the choc chip cookie and raw raspberry cake. All absolutely faultless. Worth moving to Belgium for. The cake in particular was amazing. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

 it was a very nice atmosphere. The service was really good and the food very tasty. Me and my partner shared a pasta Bolognese that was we’ve done the same with the tomato lentil soup that was everything you need on a rainy day and the stroganoff was out of this world.

The main meals will definitely get you full + taste great. They normally offer a student deal, so make sure to ask about that if it applies to you (soup+ smaller main meal + lemonade). We've probably tried everything on the menu by now. I get their sushi/cabbage rolls as a snack on the go every time I have the chance :)

Magnificent vibes - Edit
I visited for a coffee after a vegan fair with a full belly, but had to try the food because the whole place smelled so bice. I ended up having very fresh and flavorful sushi rolls. The interior felt like a scene out of a fantasy movie.

We stopped at this place just for tea and cake, there is mainly raw food and it works as a kind of salad bar, you choose ingredients and they assemble the salad. I personally like hot food (possibly just made) instead of this style of salad.

Awesome building, atmosphere, service, huge selection. This could easily be a 10/10, but unfortunately some dishes lack in flavour, which is a BUMMER.

I had high expectations for Le Botaniste – and they were absolutely met! From the outside, I didn’t expect such a grand, beautiful building to house a fully vegan restaurant, but stepping inside felt like entering a plant-based haven. Everything on the menu sounded amazing, but I went with the more classic Pasta Bolo, while my friend had the Tibetan Mama Curry.

The vibe is relaxed yet elegant, the staff incredibly kind, and I couldn’t help but feel joy eating in a space where being fully vegan is the norm. Definitely one of my top experiences in Ghent – can’t wait to come back!

There are many healthy dishes to choose from. We chose 2 bowls and a soup. I like the option of choosing a smaller bowl and getting a soup with it. Unfortunately, the soup was a bit too watery and tasteless. The ingredients in the bowls were tasty, but unfortunately also a bit flavourless. We really liked the decor and atmosphere. There was no place to return plates, so everyone left their plates on the bar (looked a bit messy).
