Gone?

Not found at this address. Website still up, but no 42Raw here. There's one in Copenhagen but that's a long walk ;)

Love, Love, Love...

This place is amazing! Although it's fairly small, there's a lovely selection of raw foods-we had a raw lasagne, and a raw brownie-it all tastes amazing. It's all freshly prepared, and it seems a great deal of care is taken. Very wholesome, and nutritious.

Pros: Amazing food, Freshly prepared, Healthy!

Cons: Not a great deal of atmosphere

Rude staff

I have been to 42 raw twice, the first time I went with my vegan sister and just thought maybe the staff were having a bad day but the the second time they were just as rude. The food is standard raw food compared to the stuff you find in LA, good for London though, but honestly unless they change the staff i wont be going back..

Pros: food

Cons: staff

rude

Two times we attempted to go to raw 42. The first time we wanted to meet a friend. He called and wanted to meet elsewhere as staff behaved incredible rude to him. So we did not go. Recently we thought lets finally try it, as a vegan and raw fan this should be a good place to go. However we literally stormed out for the first time ever out of a restaurant as, surprise surprise, staff was "incredible rude" indeed.
This makes me very upset. There are not many good vegan restaurants let alone raw vegan. If then one in such a high profile location behaves this way it adds to the general public opinion about vegans as snobs and anti-good live.... Vegan food should stand for good, quality and inventive food and creativity (Royal Academy would be a great place for that) and not rude unfriendly behaviour. I hope raw 42 starts to understand this soon

Pros: can't say: we left before eating anything

Cons: rude, unfriendly staff

Very good

I ordered a green lasagna that was really good, but not spectacular. Tasted very healthy, though. My girlfriend ordered a risotto that, with a little more seasoning, would be perfect. But I think it is worth a visit.
The desert was very tasty, but I don`t remember exactly what it was.

42°Raw

The cafe is inside the Royal Academy of art. Peaceful place in the middle of busy road.

Every dish is raw-vegan, but they also provide some hot beverages, tea and coffee.

There are enough tables for eat-in, also some ready-to-eat raw food boxes provided for take-out.

Not many variety in the menu, some dishes can't be made in some day.
2-3 choices of desserts are provided as each day selection. Juices and smoothies are nice.

Recommended for a light meal or drop in for raw food take away.

Disappointing :-(

Sorry I hate writing bad reviews but 8 quid for a small sandwich is just too much. Especially if it's not even that good. One for the shoppers of nearby Bond Street me thinks...

Tasty and healthy

This cute cafe has a range of delicious and healthy raw food options. I had satay style noodles (zucchini I think) and a marvellous raw chocolate desert. Highly recommended for a quick, healthy, raw vegan lunch in the city.

Pros: Delicious raw vegan food, Quick and easy lunch cafe

great, but expensive!

Great food, though very small portions and expensive. Raw lasagne amazing, tomato and avocado Salad good, date and cacao smoothie awesome, chocolate cake and Strawberry cheese cake sublime! Downside, very cafe feel to it, all the food comes in a pret like salad box, no plates or real knives and forks. Overpriced too.

Pros: great food, raw only, pleasant staff

Cons: expensive, needless packaging/ bad environmentally., small portions

Gem in the middle of London

Truly delicious food. Presentation a bit casual - you eat out of cardboard boxes with plastic cultery. Delightful staff. Will definitely return.

better for takeaway

salads were GREAT. unfortunately they were out of thai noodles so we had the soup which was average. way too much plastic being used in this place. we were eating in but still used plastic cutlery and ate out of containers. The dessert was actually really nice! almost didn't believe it was raw. Staff a bit slow but all in all friendly. Would go back.

Pros: Fresh, friendly, Desserts and salads yum

Cons: Bit pricey, too much plastic!, more takeaway

Good Food. Served in disposable packaging.

Ultra tasty raw Thai Noodles.
Nice Blueberry/Basil smoothie.
But when you 'eat in' they serve your food in disposable bowls, cups & with disposable cutlery. This packaging is 'compostable' but ultimately not as good for earth as using non-disposable bowls & cutlery... not good. That's my 2c.

Pros: raw, delicious, good for health

Cons: disposable bowls/plates/cups/cutlery

great food, great setting

i had a juice made from carrots, beetroot, apples and ginger, which was delicious. the chia-cacao porridge was also fantastic and innovative. set in a grand building with lots of space, the setting is lovely and airy. one minor problem was the fact that they were having delivery issues (we went at 12 and they couldn't make most of the things on the menu as their stock hadn't arrived). still, that aside, go now before this place really takes off.

Pros: innovative raw food, top-notch juices, great setting

Cons: delivery problems
