Veggie Tapas With Heaps Of Flavour And Spice - Edit
Not an area we visit a lot but have been wanting to come here for the longest time. We finally made it and it was totally worth it!
Read moreFirst off, everything about this place is completely up my alley as far as restaurants and their concepts go. It's mostly a tapas-based menu, where everything is, whilst not cheap, affordable if you don't over-order. However, I can see over-ordering being somewhat of a problem and I saw many tables of customers struggling having ordered FAR too much food.
We basically went with 4-5 tapas for four people with a side order of bread for dipping purposes. It worked out as a perfect amount for us, so I would definitely recommend being wary of ordering much more than that!
The Gobi Manchurian was a favourite. My partner thought it was a bit over-battered, but for me, it was the perfect consistency to hold up to that gorgeous sauce they had over the top. I could've eaten a huge plate of these on their own. The Malai Kofta was probably the least spicy thing we ordered and was a family favourite. It was really creamy and perfect for pitta bread dipping. The Tempeh Satay had a lovely nut brittle at the bottom but, was on the dry side without a sauce. I found myself borrowing sauce from other dishes to help it out. The C. Momos were alright but the sauce was a bit "basic" sriracha. Half wish I'd ordered the other momos instead!
Serving staff was a bit on the younger side and while their tableside service was a bit unpolished, it was still very friendly and enthusiastic.
We went away full and without our wallets being as empty as expected. A great find and highly-recommended.
Pros: Not Afraid Of Spice. Big, Bold Flavours., Great Menu Concept - A Lot Of Choice, Pricing Is What It Should Be
Cons: Service Won't Be For Everybody, Over-ordering Could Be A Problem

Their pan fried dumplings, potato appetiser, and Beijing tacos are really good. But the place looks a bit dusty inside.

A plant based gem in the heart of Sai Kung - Edit
A lovely restaurant focused on plant-based food. The location is in the heart of Sai Kung town Center, right in the square with indoor and outdoor seating.
Read moreThe fantastic range of food options made it difficult to choose what to order for the first time. The wait staff was really helpful and indicated which dishes were popular amongst regulars. They were also able to give more details about particular items when asked.
I didn’t manage to get any photos of the dishes I ordered because I was too busy eating. The food was tasty and I will definitely go back to try the other dishes on the menu!
Pros: A large variety of tapas and mains to choose from

-
// Tempeh Satay $75 //
-
// Pani Puri $75 //
-
// Momos $70/6 pcs //
-
// Malai Kofta $80 //
-
// Szechuan Mapo Tofu with Rice $75 //
-
// Vietnamese Bánh Tét $75 //
-
// Meatball with Rose Harissa $70 (S) //

Pungent flavours - Edit
I forgot the precise names of the dishes, but we ordered the potato/mozzarella balls, the curry with mince, and the crispy momos. All three were supremely flavoured — especially the potato balls! It came with the most insane tomato cashew sauce.

Wonderful addition to Sai Kung - Edit
Had a wonderful meal, satisfying and wholesome dishes with lovely flavours. Love the change of scenery among the overwhelming number of local seafood restaurants in Sai Kung. A true gem. The service was slow and one of our dishes came uncooked in the middle but the manager was very kind about it and apologized.

Fantastic must-try Asian fusion restaurant - Edit
Went here in a group of 4 plus one child. I was the only vegan (all others were meat eaters). We ordered quite a lot of dishes and loved every single one. Each dish has been well thought out, and perfectly balanced with flavours.
Read moreThere is a good range of choice of Asian style tapas, curries, burgers, wraps and salads. We tried:
- Peking tacos - popular dish. Tender oyster mushroom in a rich and salty/sweet hoisin sauce.
- Thai larb wraps - tasted like these are made using the distinctive Beyond Meat, with all the right Thai flavours, enjoyed as lettuce wraps.
- Meatballs with smoked harissa - sauce was incredible, and so were the (vegan) meatballs. Our friends liked this one so much we ordered another round.
- Tempeh satay - my husband's favourite dish. Pieces of tempeh in a crunchy/peanuty sauce with fragrant kaffir lime leaf flavour. And with the crunch of pickled carrot and daikon...!
- Jackfruit curry - my favourite. The jackfruit was so tender and the spice balance was amazing!
- Katsu peri peri burger - little spicy, and according to our friends, tasted like a fried chicken burger.
- 2084 salad - nice big pieces of tofu in a fresh and crunchy salad, all mixed in a mustardy dressing.
Though stuffed, we ordered some desserts:
- Chocolate mousse - total delight.... if they have this available, highly recommend. It has a crunch of broken biscuits at the bottom, the mousse is so creamy and also a bit tangy. And it has cute little mini Oreos biscuits on top!
- Chia pudding - nice presentation, served as a slice, drizzled in a chocolate caramel sauce and sprinkled with dessicated coconut
- Rose kulfi - interesting presentation, in wedges, in a rose sauce, with edible petals. This melts v fast so it's not so easy to eat. Traditional kulfi is v creamy, and this one was too icy for my liking - would be better if it were made more creamy.
Can't forget to mention wide range of creative soft drinks, cocktails, wines and coffees made with oatmilk. Must be a good happy hour spot for Sai Kung locals. Loved my Vietnamese coffee with coconut condensed milk!!
Good service. They offer recommendations, were friendly, and seem happy to work here. They don't provide a printed bill, instead you can read it off their ipad. Copies of bills are not provided. Would be great if they could send the bill by email.
Good value.
Lovely atmosphere, including outdoor seating in the plaza.

Okish, but not so healthy vegan food - Edit
I went there after a day trip in Sai Kung. It’s a nice, cozy place to rest and have dinner after a long day walk. My friend is not vegetarian but she finds the food in 2084 quite good. For me, I think the food here is too strong seasoned. Overall, a nice place to go if eating with non-vegetarian friends.

All vegan tapas bar! - Edit
I don't go to Sai Kung often but I'm glad I made the trip to visit 2084. Great selection of tapas on the menu, perfectly portioned to be shared with others. Good selection of wine, beer and non-alcoholic drinks too. We had the momos (fantastic), Peking mushroom wraps (fantastic), Thai laab wraps (loved the smoky flavour), kofte (my least favourite dish, but well executed), and Rajasthani curry (fantastic). Wish I could have tried more. Little on the expensive end. Highly recommend checking this place out.
