Really liked this place for a quick bite - Edit
I got a small plain pizza with vegan cheese and some veggies: it was delicious! The cheese was surprisingly good to be daiya. Overall, I’d definitely come here again.

Friendliest staff - Edit
Nothing fancy here for vegans, but they do offer Daiya cheese instead of dairy cheese, if that's what you like on your pizza. Friendliest staff ever. Also, plenty of parking.

VEGAN AND GF PIZZA 😍 - Edit
We were brewery hopping in the area for my partners birthday, and we were starving!! We are vegan and my friends are GF, and finding a place to satisfy everyone (plus the meat eaters in the group) was a challenge enough. Seeing this place had options was such a relief!!
Read moreWe were able to do take out and bring it to a nearby vineyard to have it outdoors. It was hot and delicious. I really recommend this place!!
I hope they will keep adding to their vegan menus!! Maybe some vegan meat in the future?!? 😍
Pros: Vegan Options , Gluten Free Crust Opt, and GF pasta! , Hot, Delicious.
Cons: A bit expensive for the amount- but worth it!

Be aware that the Gluten-Free pizza crust is NOT Vegan. It is made with eggs, the glue substitute for gluten. A waiter informed us of that when my friend asked about the GF pizza.

THEY HAVE DAIYA - Edit
Love this place! It’s very rare for a pizza restaurant in such a small city to offer vegan cheese. Not to mention their brick oven pizza is to die for!!

skip the pizza, instead order the hummus - Edit
2Wives (contrary to its listing here, there is no space between 2 and Wives) is a festive and fun place to eat. Upon opening in 2009, this innovative and upscale Italian restaurant (it’s not just pizza) has offered a vegan cheese option way before many other pizza parlors did. Until 2018, it also offered whole wheat crust, but no longer.
Read moreAfter the restaurant had been open more than a year, I succumbed to curiosity (not temptation) and in the interest of donating my body to science, I tried their vegan pizza. It evoked distinct memories of the pizza shop slop I ate as a reckless teenager before I became vegan in 1970. You can decide if such fare is good or bad. Regrettably, during the next 10 years, 2Wives often ran out of either whole wheat crust or vegan cheese. The latter was especially annoying because the waiters would just stand around literally doing nothing when they could have walked one block to Fiddleheads, which stocks many brands of vegan cheese.
When it still offered whole wheat crust, I ate here monthly until 2015, when all-vegan Right Path OG Café opened in town. So I ate here less often, only on Mondays, when RPOC was closed. But in 2016 2Wives reverted to Daiya cheese, which I loathe as too salty and gooey and nutritionally nil (read the ingredients), and in 2018 it dropped whole wheat crust from the menu. I relished its WW crust, but its white flour crust is tasteless, mushy and limp, and I try to shun white flour. Until today, I thought I no longer had reason to eat here.
Today I tried the hummus platter. The too salty but otherwise good hummus comes with a large array of raw veggies for dipping, and is inexpensive for its huge quantity. (The two pieces of white bread I gave to my less selective lunch date, but next time will advise to omit them.) I recommend that vegans come here for the hummus, not the pizza.
Other items may have been dropped, too, because since late 2018 both co-owners are busy lawyering up, having been indicted for separate unrelated felony crimes. Search ‘2Wives’ (no space between 2 and Wives) and ‘money laundering’ or ‘narcotics’ if you care to know more.
Now with same sex unions and with New London’s reputation for gay culture, you might think that 2Wives is owned by a lesbian couple, but nope, they just blundered upon a very poor choice for a name. In 2011, one of the wives even sold her share of the partnership to a male, so in tune with the times the remaining wife should rename the place Ménage à Trois.
Pros: The hummus not the pizza, Its private parking lot, a big plus for the downtown New London
Cons: In the past, occasionally crabby or inefficient wait staff, Salt-laden Daiya cheese

Awful Owner, Awful Staff, Not worth the food - Edit
Yes, they have vegetarian and vegan options. No, it isn't worth trying. The owner and staff are all awful. Been in many times and receive service that is either painfully slow or just downright rude.
Read moreI've addressed this before and the owner just makes excuses or somehow tries to turn it around and blame the customers (I suggest you read her atrocious responses to unhappy customers on her Facebook & Yelp reviews, the lack of professionalism is shocking)
So if you are in the New London area, luckily there are loads of delicious vegan eatery options where not only is the food good but so are the people. Give your money to the businesses that deserve it.
Pros: Literally nothing.
Cons: Horrible Owner, Horrible Staff, Horrible Service

not impressed - Edit
Driving through town. Website, happy cow and Facebook said they opened at 11am. Called for a half an hour. No one answered. Finally at 11:35am they said they could take my order but the we're not open until noon. I asked why, they said they had a big party. So disappointed. I will not patron a place with terrible communication (could have announced change in hours in Facebook) and lack of care for a new customer.

Very tasty! - Edit
RE: the last review about the gluten-free crust being vegan (and thus somehow warranting a 1-star review)—fortunately, all of the other crusts are vegan, and there's plenty of variety.
Read moreMy favorite is the Thai Chicken, with broccoli instead of chicken, and vegan cheese (Daiya). It's outrageously good!

Gluten free crust is not vegan - Edit
questionable whether or not any of their crusts are vegan...
Read moremark m braunstein
Their gluten-free crust indeed is made with eggs, as are most gluten-free flour products, as gluten is the glue that keeps flour products together, and for which egg is a glue substitute. I have been assured by the co-owner that their whole wheat crust has no egg.

delicious! - Edit
Had great options for a vegan and were also very accommodating. Had a delicious salad with strawberries, pear, and baby spinach followed by a vegan cheese pie with vegetables. They also said they would create a vegan dessert if I wished. Service was awesome! Highly recommend.
