Needs improvement (but has potential) - Edit
Small cafe ran by mother and daughter who are lovely and friendly. They made sure that our experience was as best as they could make it. Unfortunately I do not score my reviews on just the owners themselves. It’s all about the overall experience. I can start off by saying yes it is very vegan friendly and owners are very aware of veganism as they told us they were trying to be vegans. However for a family to dine in and with other customers in front of que this is not the place to be if you want your food served to you in a decent amount of time. I understand there’s only two people and only one cooking but that doesn’t mean as customers we have to wait over an hour to eventually get all meals. Dishes are cooked one by one so if your a big group this is a miss if you want to eat all at the same time. As a foodie I eat out a lot and find it a hobby for vegan finds, so standards with me are pretty high so unfortunately the food was only fair. I do appreciate the attempt of the vegan Mac and cheese as I have not seen this is India yet however I have my own recipe and this cafes attempted dish compared to mine was bland and not even seasoned with salt and pepper. We also ordered the vegan burrito I don’t have to say much just check my picture, let’s just say it did not look like a burrito at all. It was pretty much a average tofu scramble inside a folded tortilla wrap. Overall owners welcoming and friendly. Food fair, average and over priced. Wait time ridiculous. They need an extra cook and guessing they need a proper routine when it comes to prep. The daughter the cook has potential in her cooking just needs to expand her knowledge with flavours of the vegan cuisine or even someone to show her the tricks and tips of delicious vegan cooking.

Best vegan place in udaipur - Edit
Nice small food place which runs by a lovely mother-daughter couple. The vegan options are so so good here. They have many vegan options and they are familiar with "vegan". The chai, pancakes, enchilada and the cookies are my favorites. Chocoholics should taste the chocolate tarte or the Oreo cake. From all the vegan food places in town this was my favourite place.

Vegan gem for cakes, coffee and healthy breakfast! - Edit
This cafe is definitely worth a visit in Udaipur, the incredible woman who run this certainly have a knack for vegan baking. We tried a Oreo chocolate torte which was exceptional and vegan chocolate and banana pancake which was extremely tasty! Ingredients seemed fresh and healthy the vegan Muesli was topped with coconut and pomegranate seeds! It was great to meet and speak to this mother and daughter duo which seems a rarity in India, so please go support these strong talented women! The cafe is small and sits only 6-8 people, the decor isn’t particularly special but the quality of food makes up for it!
Read morePros: Lots of vegan options , Friendly owners and reasonable prices, Don’t charge extra for soya milk

Amazing vegan food, by the loveliest people! - Edit
During our five nights in Udaipur, Cafe 1O9 became our regular breakfast place. Their vegan pancakes are some of the best I’ve ever tasted, and they were so accommodating in allowing us to change around toppings. On our last day, we tried the vegan enchiladas for breakfast as well, and they were incredible!
Read moreIf you only have time for coffee and cake, they make the most delicious vegan chocolate tart - not the usual raw, healthy option. This is full on indulgence! The coffee here is great too - strong and full of flavour.
Run by the friendliest mother and daughter team, we felt so well looked after. We cannot wait to visit again on our next trip to Udaipur!
Highly recommended!
Pros: The best vegan pancakes!, Indulgent chocolate tart., Lovely people and great value.

Not impressed - Edit
1. I ordered the tofu curry and was expecting a vegan Shahi paneer type dish. Instead, I got a watery tasteless gravy that tasted like raw tomatoes. I know canned tomatoes aren't commonly used in India, but that's what it tasted like.
Read more2. My friend ordered a pre packaged drink that was imported from Lebanon. Imported products also have an MRP and this was printed on the label. The MRP is inclusive of all charges like import costs and the like. The drink was not on the menu and had 125rs printed. They charged us 185rs for that drink under the pretext of import charges. By law, restaurants can charge more than MRP for 'service charges' but not under any other pretext. They are also required to mention the price to be paid clearly somewhere.
Pros: Good location
Cons: Small (cooking smells get in your eyes), Charges above MRP on wrong basis, Bland, watery food

Favourite place in Udaipur! - Edit
Ate here a couple of times whilst in Udaipur - loved the mother-daughter duo, creating wholesome delicious food. Menu clearly labels vegan items and there are also plenty of biscuits and cookies to snack on too! Recommend the chocolate pancakes (so sweet and crispy on the outside!) and also the tofu wrap - so delicious! Small place but nice and clean and also good WiFi. A must visit for all vegans and veggies alike.
