Two reviews- One for the Grill Restaurant, One for Cafe Bar

There are two restaurants at 1703, the Kitchen and Grill and the Cafebar. I've included a review for both here, as they offer very different vegan options)

Cafe Bar (4 stars)

The cafe bar has its own plant-based menu with around 15 options, Also offers great cocktails. We tried the bread board to start- which was really lovely- the vinegar was exceptional. For main we had the impossibly poultry burger- a 'chicken' burger in a pretzel bun with coleslaw and fries as a side. It was really good for a non-vegan restaurant, but could have done with some mayo in it! We ended up adding our coleslaw to the burger which helped.

The cocktails were spectacular and the setting is really chill. We went in the middle of the day when it was very quiet, but would love to go back in the evening when they play live music.

Grill Restaurant (3 stars)

There are only two vegan options on the menu- the salt and pepper cauliflower tempura to start was delicious but the main, a sweet potato and chickpea curry, was mediocre at best and way too spicy! We love a bit of spice but without a coconut cream or more vegetables to temper it neither of us could finish.

We couldn't really understand why there weren't more vegan options at the kitchen and grill when the cafebar has so many options to choose from!

Cons: Need more vegan options
