Decent Vegetarian Tacos, Clean & Modern Restaurant

100% Natural is a Mexican healthy restaurant chain and the Merida location is half a block from the main plaza.

I visited here for dinner during my stay. I am plant based and was searching for some healthy, veggie friendly food in Merida and stumbled upon this restaurant.

The menu had the vegetarian and vegan options clearly labeled, though I was expecting there to be more options than what was available. There were very few complete vegan options though I suppose it would be possible to ask for something to be made vegan. I ended up ordering the Tacos Vegetarianos with one of their tropical fruit juices. I thought it was odd that the menu indicated that the tacos were made with whole wheat tortillas, when corn tortillas are traditionally used for Mexican tacos. I asked for mine with corn tortillas instead, as I am gluten free, and this was accommodated though the waiter seemed a little confused at first and clarified multiple times with me. The tacos were pretty good, but not the best veggie tacos I’ve had in Mexico. They weren’t super flavourful and consisted of shredded carrots, soy meat, and greens and a tahini sauce on top.

The staff were friendly and service was attentive and good. I liked the interior of the restaurant - it was super clean with a modern and fresh design, and I enjoyed the plant leaves that were painted on the walls. It was also air conditioned, which was refreshing in the heat of Merida. I wish there had been more vegan options and more creative and flavourful dishes.

Pros: Vegetarian Options , Friendly staff and service , Clean and modern restaurant with A/C

Cons: Food lacking in flavour , Not many vegan options

Small portions, sour lemonade

I had high expectations but felt a little mislead. I ordered the vegan burger and it was so small it wasn’t nearly enough for dinner. Taste was alright, but the mushroom was a little tough to eat.

Don’t eat the appetizer you get on the house! There’s beef gravy on the potatoes but they didn’t tell me...

Furthermore the melon lemonade I ordered was very sour from the lemon. So that wasn’t good either.
Honestly it’s really disappointing to have to say this but it wasn’t worth the money.

Pros: Taste, Location, Fast

Cons: Small portion, Sour lemonade, Expensive

Tasty food great service

Menu is available in English, though staff try their best to speak English, they are really lovely. The food was very tasty, came out exactly as we had asked (with some modifications too) and in great time. Plenty of seating, extensive menu for everyone.

Pros: Lots of vegan options clearly marked, Can veganise other options, Tasty

Various locations

Although not my favourite place to eat, I have been here multiple times. It has various locations in. The menu has several vegan options and the food is healthy.

Very accommodating

After really struggling to find vegan options in Mexico we thought we’d give this a try.

They’d run out of both vegan burgers because of a menu change so they made me vegan enchiladas that weren’t on the menu.

Lentil and kale soup was great too...

Pros: Willing to make vegan options off the menu , Lovely staff, Great English (way better than my Spanish)
