Masala Idli

1/2 cup instant idli mix
1 small onion, chopped
1 small tomato, chopped
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
Pinch of mustard seed
Pinch of cumin seed
1 tablespoon oil of choice
Pinch of garam masala
Salt, to taste
1/2 cup water and curd
Coriander leaves (optional garnish)


Mix instant idli mix with curd and water. Pour it in microwave safe dish and microwave for 5 minutes.

Heat a frying pan with a tablespoon of oil once oil. Add mustard seed, once bursting add cumin seeds. Add chopped onion and cook until it starts to brown. Add tomato and fry for a minute. Add chili powder, garam masala, 1/8 cup of water and cook for a minute.

Idly will be ready, flip the bowl onto a cutting board so idly falls out. Cut the idly into small pieces and add them to the masala. Mix it for a minute on the stove.

Sprinkle coriander leaves (optional), serve and enjoy.
