Above Cheapside market is a row of huts serving inexpensive homemade takeaway food. Roots Reggae serves authentic Caribbean cuisine which is fresh prepared daily. Outside of lunchtime 12-2pm there is a hot display on the counter containing takeaway snacks of patties, pasties, soy sausages, and sweet potato/breadfruit slices. Hot lunch is served from bain maries and a daily selection of pies, stews, local vegetables, rice and peas, and sauces, served with steamed veg and salad. Sells out fast so try get there before 1pm.
