More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
For my health, for the environment, for the animals. Not necessarily in that order. We must live peace.

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
I always use Happy Cow and I wanted to be able to submit restaurants that aren't listed and write reviews.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
Las Vegas was surprisingly nice for vegans. Omaha, home of Isa Chandra Moskowitz, was surprisingly veg-unfriendly. Denver is great but they'll lock you in with snow! I call Pennsylvania "home" but love living in the San Francisco Bay Area!

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
I love almost anything that doesn't contain animal flesh or secretions! I know I'm a vegan cliche, but I love hummus, tofu, kale, granola, and great big salads! But I'll happily go for some vegan comfort (read: unhealthy) food as well.

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
Listen to Elliott Smith every day. It won't depress you, stop it. It's gonna perk you right up. The movie that first influenced me to go veg was Baraka -- the part with all the chicks being thrown around on these metal conveyor contraptions. They showed beak clipping and I didn't know WHAT they were doing, but I knew it wasn't good.
