Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
I don't believe humans need animals to live and thrive. I believe factory farming is the soul contributed to our planets decline and the tension between humans and I want to be a part of that ending.
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
Happy cow makes it much easier to find vegan places near me and since I try so many places all over southern California I figured I should be sharing my opinion on these places as well to help fellow vegs find places they'll love.
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
My favorite place in the world is San Diego. That's home. But I do love to travel and my boyfriend and I are traveling to Portland soon and I'm so excited! He is also from New Zealand and I would really love to plan a trip out there soon!
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
I'm a pretty lax vegan. I love veggie burgers, vegan pizza and all that but I'm not picky, I'm totally down for raw food. I've also developed an addiction to roasted brocolli and Brussels sprouts and sauteed spinach and mushrooms!
Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
Cowspiracy, Forks over Knives (the book and the movie), Food Inc, Earthlings(warning: very graphic)
