Ba Da Chu Park, Shijingshan, Beijing, China

Right restaurant, right place at a cheap price

Vegetarians are very fortunate to have this vegetarian restuarant at this popular place of interest. The atmosphere is free and easy. The staff are very busy toppings up the buffet food dishes and new plates. During peak season Ala carte dishes have to be pre-ordered in advance.

A Corporate Social Responsibility Restaurant

This is a restaurant that really wish to promote vegetarian idealogy. They supported the Monday "NO MEAT DAY" by giving out FREE buffet lunch for the first 70 guests! The 71st guest onwards can choose to pay RMB68 for the buffet spread or go for ala carte dishes. Their dishes are delicious and cheap. We love the "jiao zhi" dumpling, the fillings is generous and taste just right.

Personal view

The food here is delicious, especially the "flame beancurd", "dry pot cauliflower" and handroll (for vegan, please asked them to leave out the salad sauce while preparing). The manager is very helpful and delicate. They do not use the 5 pungent plant in this restaurants, however dairy products are used in several dishes. Vegan do let them know in advanced and they are quite good in guiding us what to avoid. No egg are used.

We enjoys the hotplate beancurd and the chinese "pizza". The ambience is pleasant. Some Buddhist materials are freely distributed. Do remember to ask for less oil and less salt, as the usual beijing restaurants' foods are oily and salty. Despite this, we still feels that it is too salty and oily.

Delicious soup, nice ambience

We tried 2 types of soup on different occasion, serving is large and soup is delicious, we enjoy it very much. The mixed grain fried rice serves in wooden bucket is very good either. We also enjoys the curry mock chicken. The settings of the restaurants is cosy and it is a non-smoking restaurant. Strongly recommended.

Home style food

The food is nice and cheap, not so oily and salty. The only restaurant in Beijing that I have seen having vegetarian crackers "keropok" with a bit of emping taste, delicious. The vegan sunshine egg is very good, using raw material such as pumpkin and soy protein. The current owner has just taken over this restaurant from the previous one called "Nepal Eco Vegetarian Restaturant", and is still holding fast to the previous owner's philosophy that no animal products are to be used in all dishes.

Buffet meals at available during meal time. A wide variety of choices, including Japanese hand roll, on the spot stir fried vegetable, value for money! For buffet, try to go early because they do not replenish the dishes often.

Not a vegan restaurant, just vegan friendly.

Visited Elaine's last week. The restaurant is situated beside a small lake, with nice view, though a bit out of the way. The price is a bit more expensive than the usual vegetarian restaurant but the food portion is big which justify the dearer price. The waitress is keen in giving advice but faces shortage of manpower when the weekend lunch time crowd arrives. However, we found cheese and dairy products used in several dishes. Vegan beware! They can only be consider as a vegan friendly restaurant.

Deshengmen Inner Street, Houhai, Beijing, China

Nice and cosy setting

We love the cosy indoor setting, outdoor sittings with lake view are available too. The food portion is huge and we are unable to finish it, we packet home at least 50% of both dishes that we ordered. The price is cheap considering the huge portion. The owner is friendly too. A great place to drop by.

Marvellous healthy DIY steamboat promotion 25% dis

Visited the restaurant again yesterday nite. We tried the ala carte steamboat and are very satisfied with it. The mushroom soup stock is delicious and the food are fresh and tasty. We ordered 9 dishes for the steamboat costing only RMB120(after 25%promotion discount). Beside this, they have a free point accumulating programme, awarding 1 point for each RMB1 spent when guest finished all their food and no "ta pau". These points can be then be used to order food.
This is the most healthy vegetarian meal we have had since we arrived Beijing. Good, keep it up!

This restuarant is just outside the main gate of the Buddhist temple. They serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. It is good that their menu consists pages of vegetarian dishes. The serving is large and cheap. The waitress are friendly and professional.

Beijing Botanical Garden, Haidian District, Beijing, China

Good surrounding

Located right inside the Botanic Garden. You dont have to pay for the entrance ticket of the Botanic Garden if you are patronising the restaurants. The setting of the restaurant is fine dinning. Though the price is a bit steep, but order wisely and we able to enjoy a very full and satisfying meal at around RMB200 for 2pax. Good service.

Nice lady owner

The food is ok but uses oil and salt liberally. Price at market rate. The lady owner is friendly and helpful, unfortunately the waitress is quite impatient to serve. Do ask for less oil and less salty.
