consistently good

Very reliably good food, love the noodle curry and pineapple fried rice (can get it with brown rice). Friendly staff and really nice atmosphere.

desserts-yes, entrees-not so sure

03 Dec 2010

Desserts both raw and cooked are really good. Had an excellent raw cranberry cheesecake. Entrees and soups are hit or miss, many, like the quiche, tunaless sandwich, etc. have an overpowering lemon flavor that obscures the other flavor. Pesto pizza would be good with a little less salt or a sweet topping to balance it out. I really like all the organic and healthy ingredients, but wonder if there's enough taste testing going on with the savory dishes?

excellent on many levels

delicious vegan options, always interesting flavor combinations that delight the senses, one of my favorite restaurants, the chef here has an amazing palate. I often go for the vegan pizza- the most recent pizza I had came with a mole sauce and it was incredible. I have always had great service, seconds after you're seated(filtered!)water is provided and they make sure you never run out and they check in to see you're doing ok, you may have to wait a little longer for your meal but it's worth the wait!

nice vegan place

02 Jun 2010

I liked the vibe of this place: friendly staff, small but nice atmosphere. I had the barbque tempeh sandwich which was delicious, I went back a second time later that week and had it again. The food was very fresh, healthy, organic, tasty & whole grain. Miso soup was good too, they offer different veggies in it on different days using some local ingredients.
The coffee was also good - t it was organic/fair trade which I hadn't found much of in Honolulu.

They were using mostly to-go containers- not sure if that was because they were new but they were fine about us bringing our own containers.

one of my favorites

My favorite is the brunch, tofu scramble (don't forget to order the lemon-tahini sauce - it's excellent, you can also buy it by the bottle) and the vegan Sunlight Rancheros with tastily seasoned tofu, staff are unpretentious and down to earth. I like the whole grain breads - hard to find in most veggie restaurants! Organic coffee, nut burger and tempeh burgers are great too. One of my favorite most frequented veggie restaurants.

addicted to the chiggen wrap

02 Feb 2013

Consistently good food, friendly service, maybe not always the healthiest choice, but it tastes great and some meals come with steamed garlic kale which is delicious, love the chiggen wrap, country bumpkin, breakfast biscuit sandwich
Only complaint = wish they would use 100% real maple syrup
